Thanks Howard! Albert already immediately sent me a pair of new style capacitors. After comparing them to the original that went up in smoke, it does indeed appear that the original that came with my new production Pro was soldered with the wires reversed at the factory. Now that I know how to tell, I will be on the lookout in the future. Both the two new Capacitors seem correct in polarity. I'd be more than happy to send the bad original capacitor and/or pictures for your inspection. Thanks again for the great support!!!

Have only had my Reventon Pro for about a month and it has the old capacitor. Is this a problem?
Again...only the CAP with the circuit board at the end is the one to use. For all Reventon S, R and PRO version. |

i just bought a orion vortex 8 s .to open it and find a speed passion warrnty card in it.
so im assuming speed passion makes this for orion? also can the speed passion card for the rev pro be used on the orion. i have 4 of these programmers from my rev pro's now.i had to by a orion box which was way to much money just to reverse motor. I did not know that the VORTEX motor will have a SPEED PASSION warranty card inside...are you use..? And no....Orion ESC is base from Hobbywing V3, totally different things compare to the Reventon PRO LCD card. BTW...why do you need to reverse the motor rotataion...? Am I reading this correctly? Even on Durango 410 it does not need to reverse the rotation. I don't think there is a car in the market that required a motor rotation to be reverse except the home made RC car when mounting the motor the wrong side. |

I got the ESC on a trade and was told it was working so I have to take his word on that. I didn't redo his wiring except the battery leads so I will redo his motor wiring also. The Orion VST motor is new so I don't believe it's anything with that. I'm wondering if it could be something he had programmed in it also. He didn't give me the programmer so I'm not sure what settings he has things on. Could it be something on the BEC circuit? The worst case is if it was something on the Circuit Board.
Does Speed Passion have a trade in program or a refurb program? (1)....sensor port on the ESC is demaged, all the timing are gone, when running sensorless, there are no timing added to the motor, hint the slow speed. Check again with a different motor and see that happen again or not. (2) Sensor wire is bad...get a new one, even it looks new, it might be already demaged. Check the wire with different ESC and see that is the case. (3) Sesnor unit inside the motor is demaged...check the motor with other ESc and see that is the case. (4) Check the poles and wire connection from ESC to motor...one of them might be damaged or loose, re-solder if necessary. |

I meant to ship the customer a brand new caps to replace his damaged one. All the approved caps should have a circuit board on a single cylinder cap. And I don't see any old version except my piles of sample....caps without the circuit board SHOULD NOT BE USED.
The cap I received is a single large round cap that reads F25V 2200uf. It's completely round with no visible flat side or circuit board. I take it that I should not continue to use this cap and contact you for a replacement??? |

Again...don't try it with 4 poles motor, I did, and so does our driver...not working. |

Mine also came with the cap without circuit board.

I'm guessing this is what the correct one should look like. My buddy sent me this pic if his Cap.
Mine does not look like this one. http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...F238EF84A7.jpg |

in 1/8 electric, motor rotation reversing does take place at times, unless your diff cases allow you to flip there direction. (Hyper Star for one)

I will try to post a picture of the cap with the board...it is exactly like the one above...
For the temporary fix, please use the cap from GT2 series ESC that has the circuit board on them. |

Should have bought Speedpassion and saved a hundred bucks instead of paying the Orion Tax. lol |
