Took it off the track and checked things and pulled the throttle and it seemed to run fine. Did a couple more laps and it went into limp mode again.

Battery pack was charged but I tried a different one to make sure and it did the same thing with that pack. The batteries are GenAce 30C 4000 mah 7.4V.

I have a programming card on the way and was wondering if there is a setting that needs to be adjusted. I got the speed control used and all I could do is program it to my throttle.

Please help?
it would be odd, but my first thought is a motor wire. The SP esc will still run on 2 wires and maybe you have a weak solder connection to a terminal on a motor wire? ??? or a bad piece of wire? or??? I've had a wire pop off completely and the car slowed like that before. but my problem was obvious so an easy fix. you're seems intermittent which always is hard to figure out. Once it's working right you will surely love the smooth power of it though.

I got the ESC on a trade and was told it was working so I have to take his word on that. I didn't redo his wiring except the battery leads so I will redo his motor wiring also. The Orion VST motor is new so I don't believe it's anything with that. I'm wondering if it could be something he had programmed in it also. He didn't give me the programmer so I'm not sure what settings he has things on. Could it be something on the BEC circuit? The worst case is if it was something on the Circuit Board.

Does Speed Passion have a trade in program or a refurb program?

if its a speedo prob they will take good care of you. you can fill out an RMA on the website www.speedpassion.net, call and send it in. try the other stuff and see what happens. Whatever settings he had on it wouldn't be the cause of the problem though. although, maybe the low voltage cutoff is part of it so you may want to check that out.

Thanks Howard! Albert already immediately sent me a pair of new style capacitors. After comparing them to the original that went up in smoke, it does indeed appear that the original that came with my new production Pro was soldered with the wires reversed at the factory. Now that I know how to tell, I will be on the lookout in the future. Both the two new Capacitors seem correct in polarity. I'd be more than happy to send the bad original capacitor and/or pictures for your inspection. Thanks again for the great support!!!

Just talked to the guy I got the speedo from and he is also under the impression that it could be the cutoff. Bad thing is you can't change that without the programmer which I need to get.

The new style caps have a small circuit board heat shrinked onto the end of the capacitor that the wires connect to.

Have only had my Reventon Pro for about a month and it has the old capacitor. Is this a problem?

If you have been running with no issues or a the cap going bad you are fine. I'm running both the new and old style with Mod and stock with zero issues.

I highly recommend getting the "pro" programming box. With that one you can change the firmware on it and see (with words) exactly what you are changing. It's dirt cheap compared to another brand too.

Until you get it, you might want to try your local track or hobby shop to have someone hook up their box to it and check it out. Dirt Burners and Smac Trac are both pretty close to you and someone should be able to help you out at either of those tracks.

i just bought a orion vortex 8 s .to open it and find a speed passion warrnty card in it.
so im assuming speed passion makes this for orion?
also can the speed passion card for the rev pro be used on the orion.
i have 4 of these programmers from my rev pro's now.i had to by a orion box which was way to much money just to reverse motor.

I bet the folks at Orion wouldn't want to hear about that card being in the box.
the GT series ESC was made at the Hobbywing facility I believe. I bet they started throwing the Speed Passion warranty cards in the wrong boxes...they make the Orions too.

No....using the term STOCK does confused alot of ppl. but we have no choice as this is the term that most ppl are reconizing.

TURBO (Stock1) required alot of experience and knowledge in order to master...it is like running F1 vs Go Cart. Hugh different.

If you are not running a HUGE track, using MOD2 software is lot of controllable and it will still have plenty of speed because you are running mod motor with it.

But once you are getting over to the bigger track and the extra POWER is needed, you will have to go to the STOCK1 along with the mod motor in order to get the extra "notch" over the MOD2 software.

Mod2 is like the US muscle car...all power, less technology, all out....Stock1 is more like Technology, setup and using less power to achieve the higher power stage...

I am curious to see how much more punch the blaze 2 Pole has than what we are seeing for 4 pole motors. How large is the rotor on it?
Rotor is the 13.5mm....but the best part is the stator...MMM inspired design.

Again...don't try it with 4 poles motor, I did, and so does our driver...not working.

I meant to ship the customer a brand new caps to replace his damaged one. All the approved caps should have a circuit board on a single cylinder cap. And I don't see any old version except my piles of sample....caps without the circuit board SHOULD NOT BE USED.
