Last night while I was working on my SCT410 I noticed that the end bell that houses the sensor board and the end bearing was really loose and the 3 screw were backed out around 1/8"
. I disassembled the end of the motor to make sure nothing was damaged, everything looked okay. A few more runs and I think I would of had a major problem on my hands. My question is, should I use some locktite on the end cap screws? Or just check them after I run?

Huge shout out to Douglas Hobbs and Stephen Butler!!!
Stephen TQ the 17.5 Intermediate class at the J Concepts Indoor Nationals. Douglas would qualify second.
In the main, Douglas would get around Stephen on the first lap and take home the win.
Both were running Viper Black Edition 17.5 motors with BE11 High Torque rotors. These things are some of the fastest motors around and they only cost $65!!!

Are they ROAR approved?

My favorite shop have a VTX 8 in stock at good price, can someone share their experience of VTX8 in comparison to other 1/8 ESC like Tekin RX8 Gen 2, Novak Activ 8 or Hobbywing Xerun 150? Is a newer 1/8 ESC coming from Viper? Sadly there is no information from their website...

VTX8 is built solidly, tuning options are fantastic and seems to be bombproof!
RX8 blew up and I've seen ALOT of them blow up
Xerun 150 would come 2nd. Solid but slightly less tuning than the VTX8 and slightly less smooth IMO but for the money is fantastic!
The brushless servos are definitely the better choice especially for durability. The motors in these servos are so much more powerful and are regulated by the circuit to keep the current consumption and heat to a minimum. These servos will also not slow down under load so the speed stays the same right up to the point they can't move where the coreless servo can bog down at around half of their stall torque rating. Note: Team Driver Adam Drake uses the 9380 for throttle/brake in his Buggy and Truggy with the same for steering in the Truggy but uses the 9370 for steering in the Buggy. Other top level drivers use these servos as well even though they are sponsored by other brands due to their durability. The 93XX series use the exact same motor but with a more conservative circuit so there was no need for the heatsink and we also chose to go with steel gears vs. Titanium which kept the cost down. I use these in 1/10th applications although they would still be fine for 1/8th as well. In most cases, even in electric you won't need to use the PAD if you are using ESC's from Tekin, Novak, Castle as they can handle the back voltage from the regenerative braking circuit.

Do you know if the viper ESC can handle this?
(can handle the back voltage from the regenerative braking circuit)
