Noob/dumb question. I just picked up a new Viper RC VX4R.45 4-Pole 4500kv 550 class brushless motor and i have a Turnigy Trackstar Gen2 SCT ESC on the way. I believe the viper has pre-installed wires. I could simply cut/solder the viper motor to this or any ESC right? In other words the viper motor isn't solely made for viper ESCs? By the way this is for a SC10 FT, backup motor. The other motor I have which is used is a tekin 4.5. the viper motor was only $30, so i thought what the heck. i'll be racing for the first time in a few weeks. thx
Looks like they are changing distributors..

Great question!!!
First - we have set up a new distribution company, to not only sell Viper products but other brands as well. Hobby Authority Distribution will distribute not only Viper products, but products from a lot of other high tech brands. Some we have done previously, like Xpert and ARC, but new ones as well.
As for Viper directly 2015 is going to be the year of the next generation. Our new Black Edition VST motors have been out and performing awesome - including 6 of the top 12 places in all three 17.5 classes at Motorama including a TQ and win by Jason Gainey in 17.5 SC. Next on the agenda are brand new versions of VTX speed control line and Copperhead combo line. Both are a work in progress.
Yes, we sold out of the VTX8 faster than we thought we would through the holiday season. Good for us, no wait, bad for us, because we knew there would be some down time before next generation comes out. But its being worked on as we speak. We still have unit for warranty service as required. But anytime you plan something new - you hope to sell off all the old first, which is what we are working on.
What's changing, being added, being updated -- well I can't say much just yet -- seems our competition is copying our stuff more and more all the time.
Hope that answers some questions.

When will we be able to buy stuff from Hobby Authority? I've been on the site, but can't seem to be able to add anything to my shopping cart.
