Viper RC -
40 can be a touch on the high side for a 13.5. It does work with gearing some - if you want to run a larger pinion you might want to back off timing a little. Opposite if you want to run a smaller gear a little timing and tweak it up. I have seen it work both ways in 17.5 so pretty sure 13.5 isn't that different (don't run it often).
Its only been down for 2 weeks. Its needed to be fixed up for a while, some items on there have not been sold for like a year and half.
Unfortunately, our web guy is good. Not only is he costly, but also very busy.
New site will be geared towards next generation stuff. Plus be easier for me to update with race news and product tips. I don't have an exact date for when we open it back up -- because it will have the new esc info, so not til they are ready.
If you need any info on the older generation all the same info is our dealer website at www.hobbyauthority-dist or customer site at www.hobby-square.com
You can always PM me with any questions. I have some answers.

Having trouble calibrating my black edition to my transmitter.
1. Hold button for three seconds, enters calibration mode okay.
2. Pull full throttle and push button, acknowledges full throttle setting okay.
3. Push full brake and push button, then it starts chirping and won't stop until powered down.
Help!

Worth a shot..
Oh make sure your expo is at 100% max both ways as well..
Already maxed out on travel at 125 in both directions.
Funny thing is it worked fine in a different car.
Bob,
Biggest thing I have seen is that the speed control could be having an issue finding neutral on your radio. Each model on the radio sends out a little different signal. First thing I would try is to move throttle trim 2-3 steps in either direction and re-try the calibration.
The EPA setting for our system should be 100%, going higher can make the throttle and brake feel too soft because the throw becomes too long.
If you are still having the calibration issue after the throttle trim, you could try a different model or re-bind your receiver to transmitter. I have a 4pks radio and one of my radio models will not calibrate with the throttle at neutral, tried it with 4-5 speed controls. Move the trim slightly, no issue.
PM me if you have any other questions.

I'm having trouble with my VTX10R. When I turn it on I only get a solid red light and no power to the receiver. I changed receivers still getting the same think. Anyone with ideas on what to check?

Have you tried the esc with it being the only thing plugged into the receiver?
What are you using specifically for gear?
Hopefully Nick may be able to provide better steps to try, but we were unable to get the ESC to "kick over" once that happened and it had to be replaced.

I've been using this same setup for about 6 months now along with two other people but they have different servos. I want to say I did try it with only the esc but I will try it again tonight. I'm also going to try a receiver pack to power the receiver to see if that makes it work. If it does I'm thinking the esc has lost its output power.
