Also, what type of track and how big? A 15 tooth for an SCTE would imply a pretty big track. I don't ever gear to a 15 with my SCTE.

Most of the tracks I race are 1/8 scale as I race nitro buggy also, would like to stay with 15 tooth pinion is possible at least for the larger outdoor tracks. I'm already running wide open most of the race.

Ah...mine sees full throttle for about 2 seconds a lap on most of the tracks I run on.

Yup, you don't really need the link for anything other than updating unless you want to be able to save out and/or update setups to your computer. Having a buddy with one of these is NICE....

Awesome. Thanks. Just the info I needed...

HERE IS THE VIDEO I JUST DID

+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

Maybe the team drivers can till me If this is normal?

You're missing a step there. put it in to setup mode by holding the power button in on boot up. It gives you the two beeps.

Hold full throttle (with EPA at 100) hit the button
hold full brakes (with EPA at 100) hit the button

From that video, I only see you hitting the button to set one of the end points (either forward or brakes).

Someone please confirm this as I haven't had any coffee yet and am very tired

Can anyone explain why viper esc are more expensive then tekin on Amain now?
It use to be the other way around....

VTX10R is $US10 more then the VTX8???

I'm brand loyal but with Aussie dollar atm the extra cost is going to take it's toll.

Bob Barry 07-01-2014 04:58 AM

AMain prices:
RSX - 229.99
VTX10R-BE - 199.99 (228.99 with EZLink)

RX8 Gen 2 - 209.99
VTX8 - 189.99 (204.99 with EZLink)

Not sure where you are seeing Viper more expensive than Tekin, but even at that, AMain sets their prices. As long as they don't go under MAP, it's up to them what they sell their products for.

I never noticed the difference in price between the VTX10 and VTX8 series. But then again, I don't even own a 'R'. I race with the std BE because I don't run it in a 4wd buggy

NITROBUSA 07-01-2014 06:29 AM

Just went Back through my Reciepts, The ezi link price went up, ($215.99)

Tekin must have droped their prices on the Gen2 with the release of the RSX? They going for $179.99 now, they were $10 more then the Viper.
The reason I went the Viper system because everyone at my track runs Passion Poo or Tekin & the Viper was cheaper and better specs.

Amain had a sale on Viper couple weeks ago and that's obviously confused me. I never picked up on the price difference between the VXT10R and VXT8 which is weird since I have 5 VXT10R and 1 VXT8

Bob Barry 07-01-2014 06:53 AM

If you are looking to save a few bucks and are running a 2wd class, just grab the regular VTX10 Black Edition. It has no drop off in performance and can run down to 6.5t motors.

samuelsonmark71 07-01-2014 10:18 AM

I personally only run the VTX10 Black editions. I havea a 7.5 with torque rotor and 6.5 that I run in my SCT (X-factory truck) and have zero issues

boborc 07-01-2014 10:30 AM

Something is going on with amain, there prices have jumped lately along with shipping charges. Good way to steer people away in my eye. Shop it around you will find a better deal

boborc 07-01-2014 10:42 AM

Also although they say its legal but I thjnk the map stuff is price fixing and negates the idea of a free market which America proudly supports. My 2 cents

boborc 07-01-2014 10:59 AM

Also if you going to pay full tilt for your stuff might as well go to you local hobby shop and support a local business let the online retailer suck it up with their map pricing

No Viper dealers in Australia. Only thing my local sells is LRP or hpi.

All the Australian online sellers sell Passion Poo or Tekin & the wholesale prices over here are just stupid.
And in regaurds to warrenty, yea they don't exsist. They make it that hard to get a warrenty theres no point in trying.
I had a faulty thunder tiger controller and it took them 10months to replace it.....

Thanks for the advice bob barry, I am looking at the VTX1 for my new touring car mainly just as a weight saving factor. I just like having overkill.
