Need some help on a vst 4.5xl motor. Running no timing in esc and a 14 tooth pinion. Truck is a desc410. Motor is getting extremely hot in about 2-3 min run time. I will borrow a temp gun Sunday and try a 13 tooth pinion. Can you turn the timing back even further than the 15 mark or will this damage it? And I see people saying no issues from a 14 pinion for my combo, is it too hot outside or am I missing something.

garagebuilt - PM me with details like ESC settings, how long you have had the motor, typical temperature you ran it. Its getting harder and harder to run 2 pole motors in 4wd SC against the 4 poles. It really works the 2 pole motors very hard.
