I wanted to give a big thanks to Mark Smyka for helping me this past weekend upgrade the firmware on my ESC and explaining the settings. The throttle feels so much better on the Viper compared to the Tekin I was running.

Is the ESC new? (like within the last 2 weeks)

And do not hesitate to call Viper Tech Support at 1-866-206-8558. I believe they are open 9am - 5pm Pacific

Hopefully someone can help me here. First off let me say I am new to this electric stuff. I am trying to pair my rx and esc together. Instructions say hold the red button for 3 seconds then it will beep and the other lights will flash. When I hold the red button down the light just stays solid red. Am I missing something here.

Make sure your radio is properly calibrated

Does your radio have ABS? If so is it on? My Futaba 3pl will not calibrate if the ABS is on. also make sure you have the throttle rev/normal switch the right way. That can also cause a problem

bkuff - all good suggestion above to look at... does your servo work?

CCristo - finally, a year later and you have seen the light!!!! ;)

Bobby - congrats!!

FYI - Some race results from the Gobbler this weekend at RCE. Mike Wilder TQ's and wins 2wd Modified with his Viper powered B4.1. Mark Smyka was 3rd with Toddie Anderson 4th. Mike also TQ'd 4wd Mod but had to settle for 3rd behind some pretty fast guys.

smyka 11-28-2011 05:05 PM

Any time Cristos glad you liked the settings . buy the way your truck looked dialed in the main i am getting one when we get back for fla so get a setuo ready ..

on a side not i ran the same program i posted in open mode last weekend at rce in mass in open mod with a 10.5 and i will say i had plenty of power compared to everyone running 7.5 and 8.5's

outlawrcgraphic 11-28-2011 06:22 PM

Need a 17.5 system for a spec class...can someone point me in the right direction. I notice on the website there are several different models of ESC to choose from. I also would want this to be upgradeable to a mod motor as well.

Thanks
