Before anyone asks - "What's new?"

•New profiles specifically designed for on and off road applications.
•New logic algorithms to improve overall performance (throttle and brake responses) with better efficiency that lower both ESC and motor temperature.
•Improved and optimized boost performance with more power and brake control.
•Improved Low Voltage Cut off design for better power management without a hard shutdown to the system.
•Newly designed motor error detection to prevent ESC damage with alternating F and R flashing error code.
•Added motor rotation option.
•Enable boost in practice mode.

Question. Ran the car tonight and it seemed good. I was testing the slipper clutch and thought it was tightened down enough, but there is a smell coming from the motor. It is hard to describe but it's pretty strong. The temps weren't above 130 and there was no smoke at all from the motor. Is that normal?

Update: read that the epoxy in the motor can cause this smell?

The Viper 6.5 that I got not too long ago had a chemical smell to it as soon as I pulled it out of the box. Ran like a striped ape though and the smell never got worse. I guess the motor just wanted to be like its owner...smelly.

Hmm...I probably could have used that a couple of weeks ago.

It's normal ghost. No worries.

Looks good but keep in mind how much solder is glooped around your terminals. Next time maybe not so much.

saw this on another thread, wonder if anyone has any info that can help this guy out:

when motor heat up like that really fast. they are either toast or he is soldering up the ABC wires wrong. you can toast a motor/esc quickly doing that

Right. I just made sure there was more than enough solder on there so it wouldn't short out. Don't want to have to go through an esc and motor. Thanks Kevin!
