ridgerunner - looked at your motor today - you spun the rotor, it was fighting though, didn't want to let go. It will probably ship out tomorrow, you should see it by Friday.

Got my motor today nice living close, got it put back in and my o my this one runs better then the first one niceee I'm think the first one was a little weak from the start. Thanks viper team for a fast turnaround. :D

Got to race to new motor last night and won, i was able to run and clear the big 20 ft jumps on the stock settings on the copperhead system with no trouble for the whole 8 min race, the first motor i had to bump it up to even think about clearing the big jumps, now this thing runs the way i thought it should it a keeper.....

Mike, glad to hear its working better. I am going to have to make it out your way to race, once I get little more settled in the Seattle area.

ESC DEAD

Hey Nick , Last weekend I was running Losi scte with the copperhead ESC and on my third battery it died it was running great and then just stopped. There was no smoke or electrical burning smell and the esc wasn't hot . When I tried to power it back on the lights on the esc come on faintly then just go out. Would like to know what the prob might be and is it worth sending in to get fixed.I did try it with 3 different fully charged batteries with no luck still dead. Thanks Bob

i am looking for a new ESC/ Motor combo for a 2wd stadium truck, most likely i will be running a 7.5 motor, does viper offer a motor / esc combo for the VX10 black edition?

will the VX10 be ok in this application, or should I go with the VX10r?

Lastly does the program card that comes with the ESC adjust all the parameters? Is there periodic updates to the software via downloading off the website?

I have been running a vtx10 and 7.5 in my stadium truck all season long play with the punch setting to assure your not getting wheel spin and your good to go I'm geared 84-18 if it helps you any

Program card good for all adjustments but you need the usb link for firmware updates which are available on the viper website

This is the package just pick the motor from the drop down box

Sorry to hear you had an issue, if its under warranty then yes please to send it in so we can look at it.

It was the 3rd pack ever on the unit - or the third that day? There are more questions to ask but it might be better just to wait and see what the unit shows us.

Hey everyone I just purchased the Viper VTX10R BE to go into my new B44.2 which should all be arriving this Saturday, very excited about this build. I will be running a Tekin Redline Gen 2 6.5t for the motor and starting off with a 18 tooth pinion. I have the VTX10/VST 8.5 combo in my losi 22 and have the setup for it on lock for my track but I have no idea where I should start settings wise for the VTX10R BE in my B44.2. Can someone help me out with a good setup to start with for my new buggy? The tracks I drive at are indoor clay tracks with high traction, the Tracks are OCRC and WCRC if anyone is from socal.

Travis ran Profile 1 with throttle freq at 12k, for the reedy race at wcrc Adjust punch to control the power where you want it. Might want to set ESC and Motor temp cut off little higher than default.

So Profile 1 and the only settings to change up are throttle freq to 12k and play with the punch, got it. Did he run any drag break?

nikos2002 08-02-2013 02:19 PM

no I don't think he runs any - wouldn't put much in a 4wd car, would cause the nose to drop going over jumps.

Got a couple of questions about installation of the Pro-6 and Pro-9 caps. Where is the recommended place to attach the leads on Viper ESCs? Also, on non-Viper ESCs how far away from the ESC do you recommend attaching the caps? Thanks.

Mount them right on the leads for the battery coming off the ESC. You can see mine here in these pics of my MBX6ECO

Thanks for the pics Bob.

As for how far away - you don't want to make the leads any longer. Shorter is OK, longer, you lose the effect they give you.

I'll post some revised ones after I get my VF8.19 ;)
