boostem - what kind of truck is it that they wires are not long enough? they are pretty darn long out of the box.

84- if you send the unit into us, we will be glad to take a look at it to try and figure out why its doing that. Without having the unit in my hands, everything is really a blind guess.

it's not needed, but it's encouraged. Dropped my esc temps, gave me more run time, and more punch. Overall dropped my lap times by about 2 tenths per lap.

I posted some pics a page or two back of how they wire up and where you can position them.

Thank you I will look at your set up sir

So the 1900kv is sweet spot or the 2100kv 1.8?

If you run the 2100kv would your temp go down vs the 1900kv b.c. its working a little harder?

If you add the CTX-PRO 9 Super Pack your 2100kv will really be cooler right?

Sorry for all the questions just trying to get all info I can from everyone.

My VTX8 will be here this week.

They were either cut before I sent it in for repair or after, for use in a 4x4SCT. I am going to be putting it in a Truggy now and the platform is a lot bigger.

boostem - what brand? I thought our stuff was long enough for most everything. unless by cutting them, you meant you cut the wires.

Motorman - more kv is just more power - not necessarily running any cooler, just more motor - it could actually run hotter if not geared and driven properly. The Pro 9 cap is designed to help give a little extra boost, not a requirement, just another tuning option.

Nick Answered it for ya :)

I am going to get both the 1900 and 2100 so that I can decide which is better for me. Everything I read and all my experience tells me that it should be 1900, but everyone's different and that's why we have options.

In my case, my home track is not a true 8th scale track. It's a little small. It's really built perfect for 4wd SCT. They did this on purpose so that the 2wd buggies AND 8th scales can run here. Anyway, I think the 1900 is good for here. If we had a 1700, I would probably run that there ;)

When I do go to other tracks, which I do often, I can utilize all that power. The 1900 should still be enough, but there may be that time where I feel I need the 2100.

In short, until I actually have them in my car and on the track, I honestly won't know which is better for me. Hope I didn't confuse you too much

I'm always around so if you need something and no one responds, PM me here so that I get an email alert. On the weekends I'm at the track so I don't usually check here often, but I do get the email notification from the PM.

That goes for anyone who needs help or has questions :)

I tried and tried but cannot desolder the wires from my speed control. I will have to cut the wires at the terminal and solder my new wires on top, then pray nothing was damaged when I go to start it up.

well nikos you were right. I put some heat shrink cover up the female bullets on the esc and up the wire a bit and it worked! I ran a complete 6000mah pack non stop without issue. thanks for the help

Bob Barry 08-06-2013 01:12 PM

That's awesome! Glad we got it resolved for you.
