To think that the additional purchase of a better soldering iron is required to change/fix a piece of equipment I already spent close to $170 on is beyond my morals.
My iron gets up to 1050 at only 25w, so it would be considered efficient and can be had for what the average customer is willing to pay ($35-$45). The cost of a high quality iron is around $70, so please enlighten me.... Which Iron would you replace your current iron with, after purchasing a new speed control? |
Can anyone recommend 10R setting for a 6.5 in a b44 with 81/18 on a 100/60 clay track?

Brakes - set them how hard you like Smart Brake - Disable Throttle Freq - 12000 Punch- 80 (if you have traction, no wheel spin and can drive it, turn up slightly, if not maybe little lower) ESC Temp cut off - 220 Motor Temp Cut off - 230 keep it in blinky mode no need to do anything silly. Hold on and have fun!! |
This Viper motor is a power house and my Caster Racing SCT is on the heavy side...

Brakes are such a pain to set to my liking since I don't like brakes they just so you down. I will give it a shot tomorrow if I go to the track. I am running throttle at 8000 and punch at 100 and it holds.

Well ordered my vtx8 today. If anyone has setup advice or tips on squeezing it into a sc10 4x4 let me know. The copperhead combo was tempting for the price though, but I already have sensored motors. Is there really that big of a difference between the 2 anymore I do run on technical tracks with tight turns

I need some setup help for my dex410 with a vtx10r/6.5t motor. It is running 180° motor and ESC on a small carpet track, 14sec laptimes. I'm geared 19/85. Any suggestions would be helpful.....

Love my vtx8...paired with a tenshock 411. I run the system hard for 15 min an esc is never over 115 an motor hangs around 130 max. Awesome product.

symmetricon - lots of motor for a little track, plus with the traction the carpet will give you, sure the motor lays down some power. raising throttle freq might help slightly. Gearing and holes in the body for air to flow will make bigger adjustment.
bds - Rick as the new VF4 4500 Bob - sensored system is going to give you more control, a smoother feel. It will be more efficient with the battery and give you are larger range of adjustments for tuning. |

2 factors lead me to that statement. First, because its sensored you can fine tune the system with features like Punch, Throttle and Brake Frequencies - this will allow you to get a better overall set up. Not waste energy or generate heat. Second, with the smoother throttle application, amp spikes are lower, with still achieving desired speed and acceleration, with will improved battery life. Which may not be a concern of dumping over a race distance. But more voltage in the pack, should mean less, if any drop off in speed and power available. Sensorless system can often cause you to pull the throttle harder than you want because you don't get that initial reaction.

Use a smaller pinion. I would go down to 15t to start.

That's a start to see if your going in the right direction.
