simon - Bob has some good notes there. I often tell people to use profile 1 and adjust the brakes to your liking - that's a good ball park to be in. Punch is a very effective setting because too much, gives a lot of wheelspin and can cause heat build up. Lower will give you more control and an overall feeling of "traction", because the wheels are not spinning.

bob - that's how I had mine set up when I ran it (soon to be for sale - trying something different).

Dale - the only sensorless system we have is Copperhead. VTX10/VST XL you mentioned is a good smooth power delivery system. On certain track designs it might loose out to the 4 pole monsters in torque, but but will be easier to drive and more efficient on batteries. All VTX speed controls require a sensored motor.

Cain - we have never had a issue with sensor wires just falling out. Even after some banging and abuse (trust me, I am good for that!!!) nothing comes out. I understand the question, I used to work with a different brand, that the wire would come out after a perfectly landed jump. That is not the case with ours. The aftermarket part you saw was just a good customer with some good machining skills.

Big shout out to Lee Martin who won the 4wd class in the last round of the BRCA National Series last weekend at Oswestry, in England. Lee finished 2nd overall in 2wd and 3rd overall in 4wd. Including a couple different class victories in 2wd and 4wd. Really great accomplishment. Looking forward to next year when we should motors homologated to BRCA rules and we can really take shot at both championships. And as Lee said on his Facebook

Now its on to the Worlds!!!!

After a little stop at Neo..........

This will give you smooth power and should help prevent wheel spin, which in turn should give better lap times and better tire wear. If you feel that you can't pitch the car in the air well enough, increase punch 5% at a time until you get it where you like it.

Make sure forward power is set at 100, and as always keep an eye on your motor temps until you are confident that you have the proper gearing.

Thank you very much!! I ordered 14/15/16 pinion and they should be here today. I'll give those settings a shot. I am getting quite a bit of wheel spin right now so I wondered if going up a tooth or two and lowering punch would help things out. Glad to see you suggesting this.

No I have not, but my advice is send it back for repair/replacement now before it gets worse. I wouldn't drop CA in there. You could inadvertently do more harm than good.

No Idea!! 08-20-2013 04:37 AM

Was mentioned about hallway through September.

nikos2002 08-20-2013 01:37 PM

We have pushed back slightly to mid September because we found another little trick we wanted to change before we released motors to the public. Our guys are pounding around tracks in different continents making sure the motor is good, and we found another improvement to add before release. Unfortunately we have to go back and add that to the ones that were already done.

As much as we want you all to have this new motor to use and win races. We want to make sure we have done everything we can to help that before they go on sale. So bare with us. That's why I said before I hate putting even a guess of a date out there, because something always comes up.

You guys will be impressed when you get your hands on them!!

Nick/Viper
