Like that b4 above, I just chopped the plastic battery strap. Didn't have to chop much, my vtx10 was mounted sideways too and I just had to clear the caps.

Well i have soldered my wires to a horizontal angle instead of vertical so now it fits without having to cut down my strap will put a photo on tonight. does soldering the wires to a different angle void the warranty?

Don't be afraid!!!!!! Try the performance!! If you want to be faster than everyone else you have to use something they are not, unless they have the VTX8, in which case, we can try and make yours faster!!! :):):sneaky: :tire::tire::tire::tire:

What is the warranty program and customer service like?

I got my cap today and wired it up, and...... nothing...... Any tips or things to check for?

365 day warranty. I have not had to use it yet, but everyone that has come on here seems to have walked away happy.

well soldering it on is not rocket science, so I am sure you did that well. you can post a picture of the replaced cap and just get confirmation on the install. But i think you said its under warranty, so I would start the RMA process if its doa.

OH YEAAHHHH

I forgot about that LOL. I did undo all the solder leads and stand them up vertical.

I'm looking to buy a new sensored ESC and motor for 4x4 SCT racing. ( running budget sensorless stuff currently )

Will the VTX8 pair well with a tekin pro 4 motor?

Or does viper have a 4 pole sensored motor for 1/10 sct racing? ( I'm not seeing one )

Wildcat1971 03-21-2013 10:03 AM

it will work with the pro4. No there is not a 4pole sensored at this time

Not yet :sneaky::sneaky:

BTW, what are you trying to fit it in, should be fitting about everywhere.

1/10 Traxxas Rally, converted to a Slash 4x4..so basically the new LCG Slash.

I did some measuring I can make it fit.

I'm going to order the VTX8 tomorrow. pairing it with a Tekin Pro 4 4000kv. Shouldnt be a problem as the Pro 4 is about 10mm shorter than the can I currently have in there.

Just got my stuff in the mail today, and it looks REAL good :D. Cant wait to get it installed and going. Now I have to go poke around and see if I can find a good setup for 4x4 buggy

Genebaby 03-22-2013 05:39 AM

I'm looking to install some bullets inline between my VTX8 and the Tekin 1900 motor. What size bullets should I use for this? 4mm?

shagnat 03-22-2013 05:41 AM

I'm thinking 5mm.
