When I pulled full brake and hit the vlink button once all the lights on the right side started blinking with a chime and would not stop, I had to disconnect the batt to shut it down. I have brakes and forward power, but brakes seem a little soft. brake pwn is 2000 with power @ 100% and I still have to turn the brake trim to 100% to get semi-brake power. Have I done something wrong when I calibrated the radio with the esc? throttle and brake are @ 100 on travel ( I have a dx3r ), and throttle trim was centered. where does the brake trim need to be? I first did it with brake trim @100 and brakes did not work, so I set trim to zero and that's when I started getting the issue with the esc.

Can I get a little help on this?

Ok.... I reloaded A64 and then re-calibrated the radio. pretty sure I got it, esc chimed and went to on mode when it was done. didn't do that before, Thanks Wildcat. Got a cash race Saturday and don't want the Viper system to look bad first time out.

Wildcat1971 03-03-2014 05:23 PM

yeah, if I ever flash something then have issues, I will reflash and try again. Something this can get goof on software updates. Glad it worked out for you.

Will viper release a firmware update that will allow the esc to work in high speed modes on radios?

Motor Selection

I have decided to give Viper products a shot and am looking to buy a motor. I am building a TLR 22T and will just be using it for running around with some friends, no serious racing right now. I usually use around a 6.5t in my stadium trucks, ranging from 6400kv to around 6700kv depending on the motor. I know the Viper motors are torque based, and may need to be geared up. Should I go with a VXT 6.5t and gear up, or would I be better off gearing up with the 5.5t? This is just for fun, but I would like to try to keep the same speed (or be a little faster) than the other motors mentioned above. Thanks!

Paul Sinclair has been a Viper driver for several years now. If you've seen the thread at the top of the page you'll know he recently had all his R/C stuff stolen. What we didn't say was that we have a seminar & race this coming weekend followed directly by Cactus.

All of Paul's sponsors have stepped up in various ways to get replacement equipment out to Paul. All new Viper motors, ESCs, and lots of spares got here today -- first.

Our thanks to Nick and the entire Viper crew for all their help and fantastic support. A great organization to be associated with.

I forgot to mention this!!!!

I have been running a64 on my DX4Pro in high speed mode and haven't had any issues. I didn't see an official statement that the issue was resolved, but I haven't been able to replicate the issue since using a64.

So if any of you guys had this issue before, please try using your high speed mode again. I suggest that instead of altering your model in the radio that you know works, copy that model to a new one and change it. Use that as a test model.

For example, if you know that model 1 on your radio works for your 2wd buggy, don't change it yet. Copy model 1 to model 5 (or what ever number) and then make the changes to model 5. If everything works ok, then make the changes to model 1. This way if you have any problems at the track, you won't have to try to figure it out. You can just swap back and keep racing.

Very interested in hearing what you guys think of the new software :)

My vtx8 will not work with the high speed or advanced setting on my eurus. I have been running a64 on it since I got it. Guess it was a team driver I got it from. I will try reflashing it and using it again
