rule of thumb a lot of people use is 160 on the motor at the end of a run. |
OMG- I would gear up one tooth, make sure vent holes were on both sides of the body to let air flow through. And if you run on a loose dirt track reduce Punch 10 points to help avoid wheelspin.
crusher- GOC - gave you a good answer there. I would only add to not run longer than the length of your races. |
OK thanks the motor was at 110 degrees on a big 8th scale track and a cool day. I had it geared at 15/54 with my TRCE Slash and want just a little more top end speed so I'm going to go to 15/52 and keep an eye on the temps so it doesn't go over 160. I don't have a progauge so I just set it at preset 4 because that seems to give me the best feel.

I have an SCTE coming along with the MIP Pro4 kit and I think I settled on a Copperheard R combo. Would you recommend the R45 or R51?
I was thinking the R45 with 13/40? |

Gus, the R45 is a great choice for a lot of different track sizes. The R51 needs some space to open its legs and really run. I might even think about starting at 12 - always easier to go up if you need more than run too hot, too soon. Always watch temps when you start with a new set up!!

Thanks bob
Will do it in the morning myself and my mates are racing This weekend too. When ever you get the chance Thanks again ( as I'm quite new I think it's me rather than the esc) |
