Its because its a 4 pole motor. Plenty of torque.

TravisT - please, if your not happy with the unit, send it back to us via RMA (form on the website), we would replace it for you at no charge. Depending on how you send it to us, typical turn around once we get it is 7-10 days back to you.

If you haven't yet, please try another motor - any other motor to see if you get the same response, with the suggested settings.

Keep in mind that the other companies system you mention will default into an sensorless mode which might let you run it, but not give you the performance characteristics you expect. Our system is sensored only. Which also has its benefits.

Ok, so i called viper and left a message(2 weeks ago), sent email (on tuesday) with no reply. i was wondering if i can get some help sending in a vtx10 speed controller. it turns on and calibrates ok. ive updated it to a55 software.when i pull the trigger the motor flinches for a split second then the esc restarts. i just need to send it in for repairs. it is brand new but out of warrenty.

My hobby shop has been having horrible time ordering their products, then when he received it they shipped the wrong product...

So far I have heard numerous complaints on how their operations are run... I suspect they wont be around long if they keep this up. I may abandon this brand if I dont get it by this weekend...

mikelebron- don't be a hater, that's not what these threads are for, we have so many outlets available for customers and hobby shops to contact us, it's silly.

If there was a problem, all they need to do is contact us for a resolution. If they feel they cant contact the office - contact me directly [email protected] or PM me here.

We will be here for a long time, just starting to scratch the surface of what we can do......

What? I have heard nothing but good things from the locals about the Vipers. In fact, aside from the occasional DOA (all companies have these), I have never heard a bad thing about viper products or services. And I have never heard that viper support was bad. I have actually heard much worse about tekin, novak, lrp and most of the Chinese stuff. I support the companies that support the customs and deliver quality products. Viper is my esc of choice after trying many many brands. I would tell you about a couple stories from locals that had to use the viper support and how viper went above and beyond what their warrenty says, but because the warranty work that was done is OUTSIDE the SLA and was just viper being awesome. And most importantly they are switching motors and esc's from orange to black, how awesome is that, lol. I hate orange.

I just got a DEX410 and a thunder power 6.5t motor. I installed my VTX10 in it. Should I invest in a VTX10R or will I be ok if I don't push it to much. Before I ran this in my 22 with a 7.5t motor with absolutely no heat issues at all (even with a little boost). The ESC is set up with no timing, 9600 hz PWN frequency and everything else is default. I have had a chance to get about 5 laps in on it and didn't notice any issues but thats not really enough time to tell.

It is really not rated for that motor and car. I would not do it.

+1 I run the viper 6.5 in my Team C 4wd but I run the vtx10r. the vtx10 will be pushed pretty hard and you may see some issues. I local was running this and we had to turn his punch settings down to 70% or so. Invest in the "R" for 4wd applications.

The R would be a better bet. Just using the VTX10 would really be pushing the system, especially in a car were its tight, not a lot of air flowing.
