Yes, if you re-flash the software it will reset everything to default.

JJay - try a tooth or two down, keep and eye on the temps. If you kept the Punch at 75 like you said earlier, you can lower it slightly if you thought you had good acceleration.

1/8 motors are in the process, but don't look for them in the first half of the year (my guess).

Dropped the vtx8 in my serpent 811E. It was everything I've come to expect from viper, only the wires were pre attached which was very nice. Raced it yesterday with out one issue. Ran super smooth and temps were cool, had to turn motor power down to 80% and punch to 80%. Other than that just ran it on profile 1. Good job on this, was worth the wait

Thanks ill drop down to a 19 and I set my motor protection at 180. If I drop down to a 19 I was thinking about upping the throttle pwm from 9600 and see what happens.

I do not use any motor protection on either of my vehicles. That is measuring internal motor temps. Most run with this setting disabled.

Ok thanks I just dont want it to over heat and not know it. Mine got to 170 when I was at the end of the pack. I checked it half pack before and it was barely warm.

Sounds like something may have started to drag or bind up.

Im not sure I didnt notice anything during an inspection that night. I might of been poking around more the first run since this was my first time I ran an RC in quite a few years. Ill try the 19t pinion and see how I like it.

Ill prob also go to race mode cause a few times I got stuck between reverse and forward after hitting brake in the air. I thought I could add some timing eventually but certainly not if im getting high temps.

On a side note my friend was running the same gearing with a novak motor and lrp esc and I was faster down the straits and his motor temps were about the same.

Dustin might have something on my temp issue. My tranny case could be too tight ill check that before I gear down and report back.

FWIW - Running without the temp protection will allow you to over-heat the motor, which will void the warranty

I set my motor temp setting at 200-210, which would be about a 170-180 temp on the outside of the motor. This gives me insurance I won't overheat something

Exactly the info I was looking for thanks! Should make that a default setting also. Does the car just stop moving when it hits this cut off? Or does it cut out a bit then start going again after a few?
I will feel much better with that set.

I just got done with customer support from Viper and I have to say that I am very pleased with our interaction. You guys are helping me out and hooking me up. Thanks a bunch! Now my DEX210 and DEX410 will both be Viper powered!
