I have run the R.51 allot in my SCTE (which is a little heavier) but I think has a little less drag that the SC10 4wd, but my roll-out is a 1.09 (using a 3.89 Trans Ratio with 40/13).
Your gearing has your at a 1.06 (2.57 trans ratio and 62/13), so if anything it is a tad under-geared.
What I am thinking to to have you try is to turn down that timing to 2, and maybe the punch to 2 or 3, and start power up to 6.
On my truck on a real big track I was running the following and have had zero cogging / stalling with this setup.
Punch 3
Timing 1
Start Power 6

Question what is the optimum roll-out for this motor?
FYI, I came up with the following on my current set up. (4.30*3.1416=13.5088) /(( 62*13= 4.7692) * 2.75 =13.1153)= 1.0300
Not sure I want to step up a pinion as I don't need any more top end on my local track as I'm plenty fast on the straightaway and there are alot of tight turns.

Hey Andybellus,
Can you try the setting recommended by FLXH1550 and if your still having trouble you can call 1-866-206-8558. I am local as well so if you just let me know when you will be at the track i can bring an extra system to see whats going on. Please let me know and we will get this sorted for you.

Thanks Eric, called that number yesterday, no call back as of yet. I will try those settings and will likely make it out to WCRC Monday for practice around 3:00. If your able to make it out there that would be great! Hopefully I have it figured out prior to then so I can work on getting some consistent laps in.

Didn't pay attention as I was pretty frustrated and just packed up and went home, but I'll be keeping much closer tabs on everything, battery voltage, motor/ESC temps with IR gun and will also be installing the temp sensor telemetry before I hit the track again. So have all the data to get this resolved!!!

Andy, sometimes if you have run several laps the amp draw on the batteries can get pulled to low - the system thinks it needs to shutdown. It can happen on batteries with un balanced cells or that one cell is weaker than another (happens with older batteries). That is where the lower settings Dave sent you might help - less spike on the amp draw. Keep us in the loop.

Will do, thanks for the info and with this type of support I have no doubt my issues will be resolved user error or not
FYI, all battery's are less than a month old with very little use and always balanced charged.
Does anyone have the optimal run-out # for this motor?

I calculated you at a 1.06 (I use 4.15" Dia in my calculations, you said you used 4.35) and I run about a 1.09. I think you are right in the right area, I just think you should try turning down the timing / punch some.

I had a great time at Gallimods RC last night, who would have thought it would be so cold in May! But it was a good first outdoor race of the year. This place had a ton of traction from all the rain we have had recently. I could have TQ'd the 17.5 SC class, but choked on the last lap. The VST 17.5 was moving last night!!

These guys are awesome! Fed Ex attempted to deliver my motor. The guys are on their way to pick up my motor from Fed Ex! Top notch guys!!!
Most other guys would just wait for them to try to redeliver at a later date.
Thanks for your efforts!!!!

I'm running a vtx10r and when I apply the brakes at speed it stops on a dime. When I'm barely cruising say 10 MPH and below the brakes suck ass and are almost useless is there a setting I can adjust to fix that

What is your brake strength, brake frequency and brake curve - on the ProGauge? You aren't running throttle expo on your radio, are you?

I'm having some issues updating via PC link. The file is a VUF file and I don't know how to open or extract the file. I'm using a Samsung netbook with windows 7 starters edition. Any info will be great. Thanks in advance.

After you have the port set, the file set, you will plug a battery into the esc, turn on your radio, then turn on the esc. You will then set the esc in link mode, and you should see on the PC the old firmware. You can now click DOWNLOAD and begin the update.
When its complete, the esc will cycle and chime, then you can unplug and you are now updated.
Fyi - remember that you will loose your old settings, so you need to reset your temp settings for your profiles.
