Just wanted to make sure that http://eazyrc.com/viper-brushless-rc...p-torque-rotor <- that rotor will fit in a 17.5 motor. Also if anyone has tried it, what were the results ... Thanks

They are helpful but not 100% necessary. The are a few updates to the calibration, and Smart Braking system (Dynamic Braking). Send them back one at a time, the turn around is pretty quick.

So*Cal - it might be hard to do if you are running the SC I think you are - the gearing options are kinda limited. Good thought, but it might be all bottom end and no top - depends on the type of track (layout, etc). I actually wanted to try the RPM rotor with it - but I only rarely run 17.5.

In my opinion at those track you mentioned, you should leave stock rotor or pop in a high RPM rotor and gear up. The VST motors especially the 17.5 already have enough torque to play with. Just my opinion
