VST17.5/21.5T FDR w/out boost for TC (carpet)

Within the forums on the Viper RC site an FDR of 5.6-6.9 is recommended for 17.5T with boost for TC. I was wondering what the recommended FDR (or rollout) is without boost for 17.5T and 21.5T. I am driving on ozite carpet with a TC (rubber tires).

Thank-you.

Ed, Profile 2, should be Modified off road no boost. That being said, all these profiles can be adjusted and saved.

jsp - I agree, we have a kick a-- graphics team!!! The boxes look awesome, you should see the iHobby booth - its rocking - again!! Check the Facebook page for pics.

Thats awesome i ran mine yesterday just up and down the street with a 76 spur and 21 pinion to be on the conservative side and all i can say is DAMN!!!! This has so much torque all teh way through the power band ints incredible i mean honestly i know i was the street but i could get to half throttle let off and then grab a handfull and it would wanna flip the car over backwards there was so much torque and thats with the slipper adjusted and the diff set right, but honestly what gets me most is how smoothe the power comes on it really is crazy how good this system is, i was always a brushed guy before because i liked teh smootheness of the old checkpoint motors and a QC2 but i never thought andy brushless system could match that i was dead wrong guys keep up the good work!!! And anyone hestating about buying one of these systems dont your getting much more then your moneys worth with these, and with the support that i have seen them give on this forum its liking being a factory driver. Again thank you for delivering such a high qaulity product at such a reasonable price point you will have my business, Now when are you guys gonna start making nitro motors???? LOL

Running a 10.5 Viper and VTX10R SC in my XXX-SCT.

Noticing a lot of neutral position hesitation when going from throttle to brakes and back to throttle. In some cases on jumps hitting the brakes to rotate the nose down then when I'm down big pause before power on available.

I was running the sport mode w/ reverse.

You can adjust the Deadband under the Throttle setting. Check to see where it is at, but I am thinking you will want to choose Narrow. and maybe even adjust the throttle curve to +1 if you want a more progressive throttle feel.

Thank-you.

The FDR that i use for 17.5 non-timing in carpet is usually 3.6-4.0 and for 21.5 i heard the Viper team using the same FDR numbers. Motor timing on the end bell is max. Remember to always check the temperature after 3 minutes to make sure its safe. If the temps are low then you can gear one tooth until it reaches optimal levels (150-175*)

Hope this helps

Got two Viper VST Motors coming my way, 17.5 and 13.5. Can't wait to give them a try from what I been reading on here. Be using them on 2wd buggy and 2wd SC truck.

Thank-you very much, Eric. That is more in line with what I had seen for other brands (and for which I had already bought pinions).

This past weekend was the final race of the MNRC series, in which i clinched the 10th overall spot in 1/10 2wd SCT Open, against a very fast feild of drivers in which 3 or 4 have chassis sponcers. So i am happy with my 10th, that and it was original meant to be a filler class till i kept making the A Mains..

I went with Viper half way threw the season and my results greatly improved!

I run a Losi XXX-SCT with a Viper VTX10 & VST8.5, Awesome combo!

Looking forward to next year to run Viper the whole season and bettering my results!
