agreed i ordered an esc and pro guage and ended up with 4 cables all do the same funtion.

I got my esc, and wired it up. Couple of suggestions, take em or leave em. At some point I think you guys are going to realize that some will want more timing. Some motors out there don't have the capability of adding as much timing as the viper motors and people will want the ability to add more on the speedo.

The progauge is awesome. But needs a manual with it. How do I check servos with it?? Also, I don't know if this will be possible, since the esc can tell motor temp and esc temp, can you set up something in the progauge to show the temp of those. After a run having something that shows the internal temp would be great. I have a temp probe, but depending on where you point it you get different readings. So having a standard so to speak would be good.

The esc can do 60* acceleration boost and 60* top speed timing, and we don't even recommend going over 60* total on acceleration boost and top speed timing. Total timing being the max adv acceleration boost + motor timing, and max adv top speed timing + motor timing. Go much higher and the timing is completely detrimental to the motor performance and efficiency, your stuff will blow up and run slow.

Data logging is something we've discussed and may be in the works :) The ProGauge would indeed make a quick and convenient display system.

My settings on the esc only go up to 40*. Also, need more clarification on top speed timing. On profiles 3 and 4 they have 30* accel timing then 20* top speed timing. If the top speed timing is 20* and that is the max timing the motor can have, does it retard from the 30*? I believe it was in this thread that I read that they don't add together.

The wording is a little different from what most of you may be use to. Accel. timing is the same as boost. Top speed timing is the same as turbo timing. In the above example you would have a total of 50* of timing plus what ever the timing is on the can. I hope this helps.

That doesn't make any sense. The profile are pre loaded profiles. The viper motors come standard at 30* timing. People will be running viper motors with the pre loaded profiles because they don't get a progauge. So they will be running 80* timing? Even if they turn down the timing to the lowest on the motor, 15*, they will still be running 65*. Which is too much, so I think there has to be another explanation.

FYI, about 90% of the sales have been the kits with the Pro Gauge.... most people who ALREADY have a pro gauge by the Lite version.

Sorry, forgot to add the word "some". But regardless it is a moot point, if the accel and top speed timing add together, then out of the box with your motors it is too much total timing. That does not make a whole lot of sense. Look, I'm not trying to make waves, I am trying to understand. I want to be able to use a different companies equipment and be able to get a general idea of where to start with settings, and I want to be able to do the same to viper equipment coming from other companies. While I am sure you guys would love it for me to have all viper products, your stuff just came out and I have 2 rs pro's and quite a few redline motors.

Yup... most definitely the easiest way to get anything explained if the team guys cant explain it properly

Total timing means motor timing plus esc timing. In the VTX boost function there is an acceleration boost adjustment and top speed timing adjustment. Those timing adjustments are relatively independent of each other, so don't combine them when calculating max timing. For example if you have 30* on the motor, then run 30* max adv acceleration boost, and 30* max adv top speed timing. Hope this helps! Thanks for trying our products!

I must have had something set up wrong I put the esc in my 2wh buggy with a 13.5 and added boost and timing and it ran like a 21.5 I need help with the pro gauge.

When you add boost and timing, you need to gear down. Also, what is the exact setup you put into the pro gauge

I don't think you are doing anything wrong. I can't get a 17.5 to run any faster with boost than in blinky. I have tried small increments of timing, large increments of timing. In a short course truck I have geared from 6.0 fdr to 9.5 fdr and nothing; it is a pooch. I have tried to understand the timing theory to see if it was my ignorance that is the factor, but my other companies speedo's seem to do what this can't. One thing I have noticed though; endbell timing on the viper motors have more impact than the speedo timing. I am hoping that with a 9.5 in a 2wd buggy it will be enough, cause it is coming out of my sct.

keen to see a response from Weylin as his customer service has been great over email , i just told him about this thread and these latest questions

just recieved my combo last night 1st thoughts are wow the ESC is very light and very small compaired to others

will be installing it tomorrow so i am reading this thread with interest :nod: :nod: to get any tips and hints
