It's just 3mm bullet connectors seated into the post slots. Just fill one end of the bullet plug with solder, tin the post and place the bullet plug into the slot and heat with a good solder iron. Make sure your post are strait and use shrink tubing over the post.

:batman: Also PPL when soldering sip the Monster/Red Bull. I had one on the way home from work and by the time i sat down to solder I had such Bad Crack Hands, (horrible shaking) I must have burnt my fingers a million times plus one major one  no more "monster" soldering for me. |

I saw the pic of the esc :sneaky::sneaky: Im not sure if its been asked, but will one of the esc's be sensored and non? Is that copperhead better then the 10r? |

Copperhead is sensorless only and comes with a motor. The Copperhead is a different design, more focus on bashing and club racers. I've been running the 3900kv VX4 and Copperhead in my SCTe the last month, it's been outstanding. And for $150 bucks for the entire system, you can't go wrong. It has the same quality feel as the VTX's. |

LOL, I know exactly what you mean. Ha ha at least someone knows where to look. :D Copperhead is sensorless only and comes with a motor. It looks sweet plus has a fan built on it which woulf definitely help cooling the esc down, especially how i keep heating them up and blowin caps.:sneaky: |
I am having a very wierd issue regarding the site. I can't view the forum or site through my PC or iphone at home. If I switch my iphone to 3G I can. That tells me that somehow my router is blocking the site. I have no idea how it happened or how to fix it. I upgraded firmware on the router and reset it with no luck.
Edit: What's really strange is that every other site I frequent plus a few I have randomly tried out work fine. |

I received a PM asking me to post up my settings for a VST 7.5 in my X - 6 Squared 2wd buggy. Since this is the motor I run most often I figured I would post away!
With the power of the VST 7.5 I found I did not need the acceleration boost, though I still use the top speed timing advance. What's important to remember is that even when the acceleration boost is off (set to 0 degrees), the finish rpm still influences when the top speed timing kicks in. Here's my VTX10 set-up for a VST 7.5. Geared down 1 tooth from the VST 8.5; so running a 21/81 for a 10.02:1 FDR Brake strength 85%, Frequency 4000 Hz, Curve -Exp2 Throttle punch 100%, Frequency 9600 Hz, Curve Linear Deadband Narrow Drag Brake 8%, Dynamic Brake 0%/disabled Acceleration Boost: start 6000 rpm, finish 15000 rpm, max timing 0* Top Speed Timing: slew rate 1*/1000 rpm, max timing 20* I've attached a set-up sheet again. This set-up has more drive out of the corners compared to the VST 8.5 set-up I posted yesterday, mostly due to the more powerful motor. Still very good mid and high end performance. The settings I play with most often are the drag brake % (switch between 7 and 8% mostly), the acceleration boost finish rpm (the lower setting the sooner the top speed timing kicks in; don't go below about 12000 or you'll start to get 'turbo lag'), and the top speed max timing: higher is more overall power but hotter temperatures (28~30 is about as high as you want to go). As always, let me know if you have any questions I can help with! |
thks for your help Paul, i m on dirt track, i will try these next week and see if it s ok with your advice.
|
You da man Paul!!!!
See you next week at RCE. Maybe we swap peaks at prototypes. |
I'm thinking about ordering a VTX10 for my pan car (RC10R5) and am wondering if this ESC supports 1 cell lipos? I'm looking throught the specs and I only see a blurb about 2-3 cell lipos. Does this ESC support 1 cell lipos with lipo cut-off etc? I run mostly Tekin ESCs at the moment but I suspect their low BECs are causing me brown-out issues when combined with my digital servos. I wanted to try a Viper ESC to see if I like them a bit better. Also, can yo program the Viper ESC without the computer interface?
Thanks . . . Matt |
Hi , I`ve been running Tekin for years and been wanting to try Viper for a while now . I like the features and the fact that I wouldn`t have to drag my laptop to the track .
Will the VTX10 handle a 4wd buggy ? |
Briguy- depends on what motor you are planning to run with it. It's rated down to a 6.5. I comfortably run a 7.5 in my 4wd with a VTX 10.
