Yep, I ran 14+ packs and temps were never an issue. I believe 170 was hottest. It was 85 here that day. Would have to check notes for esc temp. I was geared 16t in my SCTE

I run profile #5
Timing to 5 and throttle to linear is only change(outdoor track)

If anyone wants several different profiles I have used let me know...both indoor and outdoor. I have tried a bunch of different settings.

Yea post up your findings here....im runnin indoors now and soon to be outdoors. Ibe used profile 3 turned timing down and punch control down a bit. I may play w it some this weekend. I just took setup advice from a fellow racer and havent changed it since

I got my RMA number for a return, but I lost the original receipt but I have a copy from my LHS. Will that work for my return?

Thanks Eric. I'm just trying To see what's everyone preferences on the settings. I put a 14 on the 4.5 and it seemed a bit under geared so 15 is going back on.

Just trying to see what's the maximum run time I can get with a 6000 pack

i was able to run a 17T with the 4.5 and was around 160 after 8 minutes or so.

Glad to hear all the Copperheads are performing well. For those still waiting on your system for either RMA or backordered at your hobby store, the wait will be worth it. I promise. We will take the time to make sure everyone is up and running.

Thanks for all your support always!!!

Eric Kim

Any word if weeks or months? I may want to give the 5200 a try, but im trying to convince my friend to get a 4.5 for his sc10 4x.

Lol mine is 7lbs rtr. The body alone is 687 grams due to all the tape holding it down. More than a year old

Thanks. I'll try one at a time and see where it feels the best for the new layout. Today I killed one pack and it was at 107

tibbs- make sure your EPA is set at 100 when you program your radio. I had an old profile set at 120 and it took me a few minutes to find put while I had no break.

Opio- as long as its an official receipt, that is accurate.

Juarez- motor should be in the office early part of next week.

I also have to agree wthi what larlev has said. I pounded mine around the yard (first time I have done that in years) for a bunch of packs. Lots of long full power runs, even let my 7 year drive a few packs (he ran the R51 at full power!) and never got over 155 in 8-9 minute runs. Average temps were upper 130's. Copperhead is fun and fast!!

Tibbs-
With your proguage set the brake PWM freq to the lowest setting and make sure when you calibrate the radio to VTX10R your End Points are 100-110%

Opio-
A copy of the receipt is good enough

Going to try a copperhead-r with a 5150. I was wondering is the 4500 motor availible seprate and if you race would you get the pro gauge? Are the profiles unadjustable unless you have it?

I would get the Pro Gauge. You will need it to fine tune profiles.
I raced an RCPro event with the R45 in my SCTE and it held it's own just fine. I do have the R51 also and it is a screamer. I do not believe motors are available by themselves at this time.

So I have purchased a few VTX10's on this site, none have come with the original reciepts. If a problem occurs will I be able to send them in for service? Will I be able to send them in to get updated? Thanks

njnewc 03-16-2012 10:08 PM

Where can I purchase the PC-Link?

hyperSC82 03-18-2012 10:31 AM

I have a vtx10r with a 4.5 550 viper motor. I have only raced the system one time and I noticed the timing on the motor was way below 15 degrees. So I pulled the motor and I could move the end cap with my hand. Tried to tighten it and I couldn't tighten it up much more I still moves what's the deal?

Getting ready for the A Mains at the SC Showdown Nationwide Tour here at RCE. Mike Aliberti is TQ in the Stock class with his Viper powered XFactory. He also qualified 5th in modified. Mike Wilder is 5th in Modified and 7th in 4wd Modified with his Viper powered AE SC10's.
