Will the Copperhead motors be available standalone or only as a esc/motor combo?
|
Well, guess I need to call viper today. Last nights race I couldn't finish either heat or the main due to it cutting out. When its working it is a absolutely amazing system! Had no problems running down other SCTE's with the tekin 4600kv system and was just as smooth.

Jumpin - at this point I would fill out an RMA form and send it back. If the problem is ongoing, lets go to the next step n
thefatkid- if you take the rotor out of the motor you will see if the stator is burnt or not. If not, new rotor would help. The stock rotor is 12.5, unless you are looking for more rpm, you can keep it stock. Steve- thanks for showing the stuff off ate Critters!!! You can use a pro gauge and lower setting a little on the current profile. Maybe one tooth down there- it's not a long straight- especially if you have the speed in reserve. BCEC - Buks, thanks for the update! Congrats. Hope you and Eben like the Durangos. Jan was really happy with the results. Send me some pics and info. Eastwood- when you get to your truck are the motor or esc hot? Check amd make sure all the connections are solid. I have crashed hard enough to knock a solder joint off - I'm good like that. :) |
I'm looking for a starting point to gear 9.5 in mod truck. I will be in blinky profile #2. FDR is all I'm looking for. Thanks.
|
stu- I think I ran 86-21 in my old style TQ truck with a 8.5. So maybe start there or one tooth more. Check your temps the first couple of minutes to verify.
|
Thanks, I will start around 10.5 fdr then.

I will post pics when I get home (work server does not allow it)

Is that fan currently available? I'm looking at trying another sensored setup in my SCTE and am debating between the Orion r10 pro or the VTX10R? I run viper in my other vehicle and currently run the copperhead combo so I hate to switch brands but can't decide  I run on a large indoor 160' by 70' track so whatever the esc is it's gonna get a workout.

How does the fan attach to the esc?

Hey guys finally got my Viper setup installed tonight! \ Definitely pumped, I have had it half done on my bench for like 2 months and finally did it tonight. I know I know, how could I wait?! My SC10 has been running so good I just didnt wanna rush it. I finally felt that I had tweaked everything else great so now it was time for the motor to be done so here I am!!!
I have it setup to the default profile 4 with the throttle exp at +2. I was wondering what else I should setup out of the box? Motor and ESC temp cutoffs? What is a good setting for a lipo cutoff voltage?? Anything else I should check? The setup is a VTX10 with a 17.5 motor. Thanks for any help. I tried searching the thread but didnt have any really good results and god knows I'm not searching a few hundred pages! |
