Default How are they doing?

Getting ready to order a 8.5 system. What is the difference between the "R" ESC and the other? Any issues with these systems? Friend of mine is running one and is happy with it. Gonna put this in my 22T when it arrives. From what I have read, looks to be a very good system?

Thanks guys!!

Any firmware updates get posted on our website and forum. I will let everyone here also know when ever we have updated firmware. Thanks Stealth!

The ESC is one of the smoothest I have ever driven and the 17.5 motor was plenty fast in a field of 13.5 motored cars. I tried a few setup adjustments with the Progauge and my pit table was empty without the laptop sitting there.

Here is a video of my A-main win.

Nice work Bob! That 17.5 was quick, no wonder you TQ'ed and won! Glad you are happy, I'm always here to help.

Yes, after the VX4's are released we will be moving to the sensored versions. We are waiting on ROAR to send us requirement specs for the sensored 4 pole motors.

The VTX10R can handle more power than the VTX10 so if you have plans on running a 6.5T or lower you should get the R. But if you are just using the 8.5, the VTX10 will be plenty of system for the 22T.

Thanks - I attached a 2nd video in my post above that was taped last night from a different angle. He follows my car the entire race. Felt great to race again after taking a couple months off.

Quick hello after the practice day for the JC race here at RCE (well from the hotel by RCE). The Viper team had a good day of practice, everyone was happy with their cars and setups. There is a wicked 5 jump complex in the middle of the track. Most can clear it in modified- but it's hairy. In 17.5 we have to double - double - single. There is a weird lip on the third jump that keeps you from doing a triple double. Traction is good and we are definitely putting down some Viper power!!! Check back for more updates.

Unhappy vtx10

I understand your frustration.Got first in april went up in smoke after 5 7 minute runs.Sent in received great service.picked up a second to have on hand (still seems stupid to have to do this) this one once again after 5 7minute runs leds on v-port quite wont arm only on off.told to send in.hope the one I got back lasts.Got rid of tekin rs had troubles bought early In year didn't use for a while than it quit.out of warranty so switched to viper for their year warranty.only replaced 2 esc in 20 years prior to these brushless escs.

im still running my pre pro esc from a 9 months ago. and one in the 17.5 sc truck i ran is 4-5 months old. im not sure how people are having problems!
cant wait till we get everything squared away and we have an awesome product on our hands!

Everything has a failure rate these days, there is no esc out there that cant fail! its ELECTRONICS! there are somethings we just can NOT control.

If people are having shut off issues, it can be a few things.

1. Your cut off temps inside the ESC are to low, turn them up higher around 240.

2. Add another layer of double sided stick tape to the bottom of the ESC. A hard hit or landing can cause shock to the ESC and it can shut off.

3. Post up your ESC settings. Saying "It doesn't work, I don't know why but I am pissed". doesn't help. PM or email me, I am always willing to help walk people through setup or help with questions. [email protected]

Thanks!

One of the biggest problems I have found with shut offs after landings, are the solder joints on the caps. Even if it was done at the factory, unsolder them and do it again to be sure.

Great weekend for Team Viper at the J Concepts Fall Indoor Nats. Viper Drivers win 2 of 3 17.5 classes, take 5 of 9 podium finishes and a TQ spot.

We also finished 3rd in 2wd Modifed, 8th in 4wd Mod SC, and 9th in 2wd Mod SC.

Look for more details over the next couple days.
