Looks good!

Can you PM me all your ESC settings by chance? Im new to Viper stuff, going to get a system from my SC10

Reagen set it up for me at the Jconcepts race. I will plug it in and read the settings and pm you.

That track would still be awesome if they cut it in half.

You can try 220 on the cut off, but as nitroal mentioned it takes the reading from inside the ESC where temps are much higher. To low and you will get false readings and premature shut off. It stumps everyone at the start, it's probability the most asked question.

Great success with the maiden voyage on the VTX10R and 4.5 550 motor in the AE 4x4... with the settings we set, and the esc temp cutoff to 220... I was able to snag TQ and took 1st in the Amain with a full heat of 10 trucks tonight... 12 pinion was perfect for that 200x100 track! I dont see my self gearing up at all... dont know why other people were telling me to..

ESC got to 135 and the Motor got to 120 after a 7 minute main...

All I gotta say, is.... SUPER SMOOOOOOOOTH. Had the speedo set at 75% punch, throttle curve on the linear setting... and had my radio at -100 expo..

Happy customer!

I'm debating on picking up 1 of these speedos. I'm using a kinetic right now & it's starting to thermal on me from time to time. From the above post it looks like you can program the viper for a thermal cut off? I'm excited to see viper is coming out with some 4-pole motors. The ones I saw look uncensored...hopefully they will come out with sensored motors to rival the tekin motors!

BSchorr 09-11-2011 05:45 PM

Ya, you can program the motor and esc for the temp cutoffs.

Gald to hear I just bought this setup im ready to rock

I have three of these systems now, 2 of the VTX10's and one VTX10R's. Very simple and easy to use. I find them easier to set up than the other brand, which can be pretty easy as well. Super smooth throttle response but I like that you can adjust it in a few ways.
I'm running my VTX10R in my SC10 4X4 and after some toying with it, I have my 5.5t 540 size motor just flying with it. I prefer the 540 power band and feel. I had to turn a bunch of settings way down but it's getting stupid speeds down the straights and still making jumps the 550 size guys can't make.

Very excited to see what's coming next from Viper!!

Used my new viper esc this weekend for the first time, it was super smooth, for sure smoother than my Tekin RS I replaced and had a very usable power band in 2wd mod buggy.

Thanks for the plug. Those settings are pretty solid. Most will find that if you tone the power down the car or truck will actually be faster cause it never loses traction. Your tires will last longer too. Both are a plus.

Ill post my settings I ran today on the 200x100 ginormous track tomorrow. I

help..

hi all, running the Viper VTX10 with the VST 9.5 motor.

was running perfectly, very amooth.:) but on my last outing, i had issues. it wont run! it is like heavy cogging? i had to push my buggy a bit to get the wheels to turn, then the motor will start? but even then it starts off sounding as if it had a bad gear mesh, grinding and all.
i disengage the motor from the spur gear to check if it was the gears but motor still wont turn. so i suspect it is either the esc or motor.
esc is abt stock setting and so is the motor. i swap out the sensor cable as well, just to be sure. same issue.

i will try another motor, just to be sure, but i m hoping if anyone can advice me on this?

thanx all

Can someone provide a good starting setup for ESC and gearing for TLR 22? I will be racing indoors on carpet offroad track. Track is approximately 85 x 50
Traction is very high but looking for smooth setup.

Any suggestions?

Are the new 4 poles that are coming out going to have leads coming out the motor much like the castle's or will they have a soilder tab. If they are prewired, can the wires be trimmed down to reduce the amount of wire.

Hey Bobby, I don't run buggy so I am clueless when it comes to buggy setups. I did however send an email out to a few guys on Team Viper for some help. If you want to PM me your email I will send you the settings once I receive them.

The wires are per-installed with high capacity bullet connectors. And bullet plugs on the ESC plug and play. The wires do come out of the motor (like in the 3D render). You can trim the wires as needed.
