Seems the deal with Team CRC is finally giving Hobbywing the cred they deserve. They deliver quality products at reasonable prices. I been using Hobbywing for years, would not buy anything else either. Good job, top products and reliable.
I got Xerun 120A, Xerun 60A, Xerun 1s 120A and lots and lots of EzRuns.
Never had one fail on me yet, oldest EzRun is close to 3 years old. Still run like new! Also their motors are great, reliable and fast.

I am waiting to see their setup sheets for the HW. I know my ESC is pretty good, but I am curious on what they used to win the big races.
Looks like 2012 is going to be a good year for HW.
Shawn.

Hi,
Could I ask for some advice, please?
I'm shortly going to start racing 1:10 2wd off-road, I'm not going to be running crazy low-wind motors (9.5T is the lowest I'll go probably), also I might do some TC (13.5T).
Which is the most suitable ESC for this? I'm looking at either the Extreme Stock ESC or the XERUN 60A 2.1 ESC.
Thanks for any advice offered.
Joe

Hey Joe, if you are going to be running 9.5T,s I would recommend getting a 120A ESC. They are only a few grams heavier, acouple of dollars more, but its really cheap insurance to know you are not going to be pushing the limits of the ESC. Besides, you might want to put a 5.5T into your car just for a alittle mod fun time. Its nice to know the ESC can handle anything you throw at it.
Cheers,
Shawn.

does mean the Extreme Stock ESC would be not suitable to use with a 8.5t motor in a 2wd 1/10 buggy??
#7371
the xtreme stock is perfect for your application just remember you can run turbo settings down to a 8.5T motor but no turbo function for less than 8.5t or else you will cook the esc .with no turbo you can run a 5.5t motor

any suggestions ?

Thanks for the kind words Rosso...
Sorry for the delay getting the HW setups on the Team CRC page. They should be up next week. I will give you our setups here on RC Tech for now. On some of the less vital settings, we always seem to use the same setup on the 930stock software;
no drag brake
reverse to 100%
Brake - 100%
NO voltage protection cutoff ***use with care ***
Punch Level - 9
Neutral band - 6
No thermal protection - ***use with care ***
********************
We alter the main heat and horsepower producing numbers are as follows;
Hobbywing 120A, 1s - CRC Gen-Xi - CRC 5600 Rocket Fuel 1s pack, Trinity Duo 1
Event - 2011 Las Vegas - 12th 13.5 Open (10th place qualifier)
Boost - 54
Turbo slope - 24
Turbo - 5
Start RPM - 1000
Turbo Delay - .2
Boost ramp - 150
Motor - Duo 1, lowest timing, 2.60"/rev
To quickly discuss setups in the pits, our team groups the Boost numbers and the Turbo timing numbers together. For quick discussions in the pits, the above would be known as 54/150 - 5/24 which is boost/boost ramp and then Turbo/Turbo ramp. In 1s, we seem to always land on 1000 start RPM.
*******************
Hobbywing 120A, 1s - CRC Gen-X 10LE - CRC 5600 Rocket Fuel 1s pack, Trinity Duo 1

Turbo slope - 24
Turbo - 8
Start RPM - 1000

heat is created by very agrressive gearing and very aggressive turbo and boost settings .tone them down a touch and match everything with the drive train and you will see the difference temp will drop and buggy will be easier to drive .
