Me again with a glow plug question.
A few posts up i made a mistake in the glow plug model. the local shop has:

team orion Rev Turbo x-type 7 cold.
part: ORI88837

http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/rc-glo...7-p-20151.html

Will this fit a jp fx12 (seal properly ) as it's the only plugs i can get for a little while until the other orders come in.

thanks

Other than Novarossi, the only other plug I can recommend is the GRP. The word is that GRP is out of business so Novarossi is the only choice.

I used the exhaust gasket that came with my Eagle .12 with my JP exhaust and it leaked like crazy, and it was brand new. When I took the exhaust off, it was a very loose fit so I can see why it would leak. Anyone have any suggestions for exhaust gaskets that will fit better?

try the venoms .15 seal, $2.5 at tower, will fit tighter and are the only ones
that can be used with the skyline pipes

good luck

Just a change in name and a change in heat sink. I think the engines are pretty much the same.

Porting and crankshaft is the same, the only difference is the piston.
The FX piston was microcasted, featured 2 rings and was domed.
The p3l has a cnc piston which is flat.

I both have the p3l black and a black eagle but i like the p3l better
The eagle feels really slow to me, the throttle reaction of the p3l is far better.

i purchased the p3l as a training engine and the eagle as a racing engine, but i'm using the p3l for racing and the eagle sits unused in it's box after about 4-5 litres of fuel.

I went on and took a chance on that JP Plus 12. In short, this thing is B-L-A-Z-I-N-G. Makes me worry when it's time for a rebuild since I don't see a p/s/r set for it, and I've seen some Eagles be silly fast and others, not so much. But in the meantime, I'll run this until it pops.

Well i think i'm just unlucky and have gotten a bad one. It's just slow, low end is terrible and top end is like most of the standard engines, it doesn't scream.
I've already replaced both of the bearings because the front one was leaking, and changed the carb. because i thought that was causing the issues.
Tried a lot of different exhausts and different gear ratios but just no power.
When i tune it to get some performance out of it it runs on 180 celsius.
And JP won't take it back, while there is simply something wrong with it.
Too bad for a 420 euro engine, next engine will be a RB. I'm done with the terrible service (no service) from JP.

I have been having the same problem. The eagle needs to be geared low to get any low end out of it. Mine is fast but it doesn't hold its tune very well but top end is not a problem mine i was clocked at 64 mph at the capital classic.

vincent jackson was clocked at 66mph which happens to be the new top speed record at 301 raceway previously held buy c-whit and his to3-t fx black mod jp at 64mph. you should work on your clutch, gearing and tuning because your eagle should be blazing with top end. good luck

This is interesting. I have a Eagle TL-3. I carefully broke-in the motor on a bench, ran it very rich on a track for 2 days to finish break-in, replaced the conrod, raced it one day still a little rich, then I went to the capital classic. I ran it wed, thurs, we had rain friday so saturday was 3 qualifiers then sunday was the mains. I never leaned the motor more than what was needed to make 5 min. It never got above 270F. I was about 15 min. into my main when the rod broke. It broke at a slow part of the track and it actually twisted then snapped. I sent JP an email explaining everything and told them I had pictures I could send also. They weren't interested in my pictures and said that it must of been something I did. Now, I understand that there are no warrenties with this stuff but I've had other problems in the past and other companies were willing to help and were concerned about keeping me as a customer. Not JP. They don't believe in "The customer is always right." They believe "Our engines are perfect. If it broke, it was your fault."

But the good news is that Joaquin Desoto is taking care of me. He actually cares about if I buy another JP engine. If you buy all your JP stuff from Joaquin, he will take care of you. http://www.desotoracing.com/

With the .21 engines the manual says after the first liter to change the rod, mostly that is the point when the engine can be used in a race.
