JP engines

Have anyone heard about them, or own one lately? Here I have not been seeing it much in shop space and at the track. Some even say their new series FX engine have lot of problems. Anyone have the FX? Is it good or not?

The power is good, low fuel consumption...

I own 2 JP engines (not the FX), the JP RS12 and JP SBK-01.

These engine are very powerful and fuel consumption is above average as daniz24 stated. You will need above average engine tuning skills to tune these wild engines however.

Try the newest JP FX as a lot of people says it's the most powerful motor... What do you called it when you have the most power and capability of refuelling over 1 minute more from anybody else in track :sneaky:  Cool...

I want to try the new FX too but I am not sure about durability of AAC sleeve!

My .21 Sirio Offroad AAC engine didn't last very long. The pinch went away very fast (a gallon or two).

a friend of mine told me when you start pinching the sleeve it will not hold it's shape or size very long!

So are you still suggesting stay away from AAc?

DOMOisCOOL 05-02-2004 09:21 PM

I will. But this is just my experience.

The FX r-01 engine is abc but you'll have the 7 ports version with no ceramic bb.

I have a JP modded MovaRossi S3 and the thing absolutely screams.... But you do need to have good tuning skills, but that's with any racing engine...

STS D3 or D5
RB X12
Rossi Pixi Black, dont know how much but I think under $200

NS/NSR are in the $250 range!

darkangel 05-03-2004 05:17 PM

STS or OS TR

either of these would fit in the price range and are good motors. The Pixi might fall below $200 but just barely. The RB X12 you'll be lucky to find at this point, but the RB V12 is only slightly above $200 with shipping at www.ace-hobbies.com.

that's right, V12 replace X12, may be some hobby shop still have X12 in stock and they might willing to blow it cheap too!

thanks for the info

the fuel economy is a very good thing, dont the team drivers use JP motors correct me if im wrong, because like i said mugen has been rippin it up lately. Someone said that the race motors are harder to tune is that tru?

my friend has the novarossi 5 port .12 big $$$ and it is very touchy, if i spent $300 i better not have a problem tuning it.

my first motor was the OS rg .21 for my mbx 4rr and it is fast easy to tune and i have had no problems in two years.

i like reliability:nod:
