so basically set the engine to run rich and drive it around nice and easy while varying the throttle position? (no more than 80%)

anything else?

$85 is cool enough for me

Rabbit, at this stage (depending how tight it is hehe) it just drive it around nice and easy ie do not rev it - thats may stress/damage engine.. just take your time, check pinch with glowplug out and when shes ready..... wooohoooo

Thanks for that. It's a shame to have to put $85 on top of the $160 the brand new RS5 cost me, but at least I'll be legal with the 3 port

You come from U.S.A right? This way www.projectzen.net

I don't have chance to test it on other brand engine,it is designed for our D21B.

Bah, why do i always have to explain everything to you Sydney folk. hehe j/k

if price is $85 AU then thats good price, if its $85 US then its a rip off.. got it now? then for a shock I said price a nova P/S set...

WooHoo,

Got my new D3 piston and sleeve this afternoon, so I tossed the 5 port liner over my shoulder and slotted in the 3 port. Couldn't wait to fire up the new starterbox and get the RS5/D3 conversion running. I'm impatient I am.

Anyhow, a few drops of after run oil so it wouldn't start dry and it was then hook up the fuel line and it took about 2 bumps and it was running Tuned it on the rich side and then let it idle for 3 mins and shut it down to cool. Did this again 3 more times until the tank was dry and that's the end of the day's play for today.

I'm thinking I'll use the guy from RB Mods's method of break in and see how that goes. The D3 has wicked compression though so I'll just be gentle with it.
