am i the only one having a hell of a time tuning this engine? it runs like a switch. you try to give it just a little gas and it runs like full throttle. not very linear at all. when i fatten up the bottom end, it loads up and stalls. nothing but problems since day one when i received it and it wasn't sealed from the factory! i run 20% sidewinder, the silver shim in florida where it is hot as hades. and an os hot plug. sts d3.

Hey!!! You're not the only one!!!
I used liquid gasket maker and sealed up the carb where the o-ring is and also seal the high end needle where it connects to the carb. It did fix the leak BUT!! I give up!!
So good luck to you.

Well, I broke in the D3, and I have to say I'm impressed. The motor is very strong in the bottom end, however this is the first time I have run a turbo motor so I'm not sure if this is why.
Matched with my NTC3, this motor seems to perform quite well. I will know more after Sunday's races

I'm not sure if this has been answered elsewhere, but can anyone shed any light on this?
I ran the STS motor for the first time on the weekend. I initially had an RB #7 plug in it but wanted to try a 5. I had a Novarossi #5 so I put that in and when the car came back from the race there was what looked to be a fuel leak near the top of the motor. I naturally thought I hadn't tightened the plug up properly. So I checked it and ran the motor and it was still leaking. I checked to see if there was some crud in there that stopped the plug bottoming out but there wasn't.
I changed back to the RB plug and the leak was gone.
Can you guys tell me what plugs you use and if you have had trouble like this before?
Cheers,
Mike.
