This is my second nitro motor, the first being a Traxxas 3.3 (don't flame me it got me back into RC). They recommend heat cycling. What's the best way to get the best performance out of this motor? Sorry if this has been covered before but I searched and had no luck. Thanks for any and all help.

Hi Jason,
it looks like the guys beat me to answering your question. It happens frequently here. Not because I'm pokey, more like because every one here is willing to jump in and help. We have members from most everywhere. GO engines are even more popular in Australia than they are here stateside. Many of our Aussie friends have helped, and tutored, GO owners on this thread. We are proud to be friends with them.
It's all good here. Got questions....ask. Got gripes............voice 'em. Got good news/race results.................we wanna hear that too.

I think this has been covered before. How much air can come out of the front bearing? I say none. I had one other go engine that had a front bearing air leak, would not hold a tune for crap! Replaced put engine back in water no leak tune was spot on. I know that some fuel coming out is okay. Some, not blowing all over the whole car. When I did the pressure test I can blow into the fuel line very lightly and have air bubbles like a bubble machine. Not the normal none /a few.

one of the worst things to do is plug the exhaust to shut engine down, causes to much compression and makes front bearing leak. if you are just breaking in engine and is doing this, you might be heating to hot causing case to expand more than bearing. if its a older engine just replace front bearing, they are 5 bucks.

ive never had a front bearing not leak....even brand new tko ceramics will leak...if you are running rich right now during break in...then the really leaky front bearing is fine....just make sure you take your flywheel off and wipe it down after every day...once you start leaning her out, she will stop leaking...

The way that most of us are breaking in the motors is on the break in stand. Heat to 200 and run the motor for 1 or 2 tanks at 225 then let cool and we do this until metal pinch is gone. gallon to gallon and half.We have been having the best luck this way. This break in procedure might sound crazy to some of you but it has been working great. A lot of the GO guys send there motors to indy rc world. He seals the motors and breaks them in for 35.00 including fuel. He has done all my GX2's and they have been running awesome.

omg!....I just almost choked to death from laughing so hard...I broke in my buddies gxii p/s/r with idling half a tank the first run(always reheat to 200f and let cool to at least 75f)....then on the ground she went for 3 min runs till I got about 300ml of fuel then went to 5 min runs until I got another 300ml.....then 2 full tanks and on to the races she went
