Deadman is correct, when the tank is opened the pressure is down, and when you fill it full on a darn near empty tank you force a good amount mote fuel in the carb. A simple fix is to make sure you pit with atleast a 1/8 to 1/4 tank left. This way the tank will always have a good pressure and no pushing fuel threw on refills. If you have to pit under 1/8 tank for some resin keep above idle like deadman stated.

Sorry but I have to disagree. The fuel tank is pressurized from the exhaust line, and once you crack that lid open it looses all it's pressure witch pushes the fuel to the carb. So in all reality it goes lean. Open your lind and hold it there, your motor will lean out.

why do you think the famous "Flame out after being refueled" seems to get every one from time to time...even the pros
from sitting and idleing during refuel! we all know that a engine that will sit and idle forever is not tuned right. average sit and idle time before load up is 14 seconds. sitting and idleing=more fuel=less being burned=run rich untill access is burnt off

How long do you sit in the pit being fuelled ??? LOL I'll film a fuel stop for ya if I can, We always and my pit man always fills me rite to the top and snaps the lid shut as dropping the car into pit lane, think of your bottom end as a nozzle on a hose that is set correctly, turn on the hose tap and the flow throu the nozzle should be the same, also have your pressure line longer than your fuel line helps absorb the extra pressure as you snap the lid shut.
