what more could they do & keep it affordable for us busted ass racers to have a competitive motor that'll match the best of them for a good price,
i say well done to the GO factory & hurry up with production so we can put the doubters to rest till the next generation comes out, as if

What is it with some of the people on here
No one has actually held one of these motors in their hand and had a good look at it yet, but it's already being written off as a non event in some corners. Unbelievable.
Like you Magpie, I reckon for the price these motors will sell at, they will be exceptional value for money. Sure we could have had a few the other things that we are supposedly going to "miss out on" - like a new G clip !! Whoa, I'm sure that would have ramped up the performance markedly.
I bet if we had all these extra's and the price went up a few dollars, then some people would be saying it was too expensive - give me a break.
I'm sure there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than most of us will ever know about, so lets just be happy with a new motor that is a step up from what we have had in the past. I personally can't wait to get hold of one and run it in. Life's simple pleasures
+1

I cant top that.

pipe pipeline ba ha ha

Hey guys, a couple local racers that I do engine work for are going to run GO's next season. Is the street price that people will be able to get these new engines for going to be $245? I ask because that makes it more expensive than the Nova P5XLT.

If this is the case and they just get the engines currently available, will I be able to get parts for them next year when they need small things?

Thanks in advance

I like Go and am sure these new engines will be great. As long as they're not on the list of top-10 or whatever at the big races the hype factor just won't be there. But the performance and price will be, so bleh... And if the performance of these new engines is really better than the previous generation without jacking the price up too much, then well done Go!!
i honestly dont want the BIG guys to be sponsored and get Go's name big and have everyone jocking go.....this is 1 of the reasons why i run these motors, because they are the underdog....There are some GREAT factory guys getting good results and wins ALL the time, and hopefully THEY get big and make the motors more of a household name.......

the street price is probably going to be a tad under $245 but for now that is the pre order price including shipping from Motomatt @ Nitro-North.com . as for parts im pretty sure there will be a GOOD amount of GX parts still around for replacement

Ok, they were hoping the new engines would still fall right at $200 since that seems to be the IN thing these days. Thanks for the info.

Chris... the MAP on the GXII-5R is the same as the unmodded P5XL. The difference here is the ramped crank and extra sleeve work.

Yes, you will be able to get parts.

Robert, please do us all a favor and stop capitalizing the words you're trying to emphasize. It makes you appear condescending. People are smart- we'll all figure out what words are important. Thanks.

Ok well they are gona stick to the old line to start with, for the extra money they want to see proof that it can out perform and out last a Nova at the same price point.

Thanks Ruune

Chris,

With the exception of heat sinks, I have a complete inventory of GX parts.

Oops, I lied, I don't stock 3R piston/sleeve assys.

Thanks Ruune
thats fair....i dont think they will be let down...hell, i dont see anything wrong with the O.G line of GX motors....just dont break them in TOO FAT, cause the front bearing will leak if there is excessive crank pressure for the first litre of fuel.....some people like that WOT break in at SUPER FAT settings or just plop it on the ground after richening the HSN by a full turn and start 1/4 throttle runs.....these are NO BUENO!....always PREHEAT and not too lean, no matter what break in you use, you should be good as long as its preheated on not ULTRA FAT settings.....

To me modded in the factory means stock especially when that is the only choice for engine. You can still send it out to be modded for more improvement.

I'd like to compare this comment to the OS V-Spec vs. OS Speed.
The Speed is factory "tuned".

I think we all know that this means that OS has done port and crank work to it.
Of course it doesn't mean more power can't be extracted by an engine modder, but it DOES mean that it has more "work" done to it than the "base model" V-Spec.

The GXII being "factory modded" means it has more work done to it at the factory than the GX models. So what is happening is, GO isn't going to release a base model.
