Couldn't reply till now because of 5 post / 24h limit Lol but yes ^that's^ it, the white headed Bonito. Hopefully this repainted old stock garbage will hold together for a few gallons as I make the turn marshals blow past their Fitbit goals with flying colors.

well my silver head "limited edition" karma has 8+ gallons and has literally never flamed or stalled once, not bad for old stock. the biggest problems with the limited editions is they tend to come with the carbs no one wants. Throw the carb from your p5 on it if you still have it and run your 053 pipe.

cbh148 04-18-2020 10:21 AM

Right on. From what I can tell, my P5 is specifically the P5XLT and not the P5XLT/16 or the P5XL. The engraving on the bottom reads 0587/14. Is the 14 indicative of manufactured in 2014? The new Bonito reads 0885/19.

Browsing the Out-of-production engines page on Novarossi's website, and comparing the 3 different P5's there is what leads me to believe mine's the P5XLT since the crank case is black, the crankshaft doesn't have a silicone ramp, the carb is the normal reverse style and it has no midrange adjustment screw. If that's correct, then the exploded view sheet shows it's a 24063, which I'm hoping is the better carb you mentioned rather than the 24069 that the new Bonito's exploded view sheet shows it has.

if the bonito comes with the 069 carb thats the one i prefer

mephisto opinions

Thinking about a mephisto, currently have a mito 4 and p5. Haven't seen too much on it in this thread...any thoughts/opinions/experience with this motor? Thanks

From what I can tell, my Bonito's needle tip will fully exit the jet at WOT, but my P5's won't. Don't know if that's just a product of different LSN settings, or if that's part of the assembly differences that coincides with one of these carbs being the preferred model over the other.

I am currently running a Nova Rolling w/ a 41021-9901 header pipe combo in my truggy. I found a 2096 that I forgot that I had. What will the 2096 do for the Rolling with the 41021 header.

So is it 1.5 or 1.25 turns on the D screw?

i have found the needle seat adjustment to work best at 2.25 turns from all the way in .... this allowed much more usable adjustment of the low speed needle ....... mush less finicky and stayed more consistent .....

hope this helps

Mito 7 or rolling?

It’s for a truggy. Seem pretty similar, any body know any differences?
