Have you run the Legend 7 or Keep Off 7 just to get an idea for this one?

Chris, you raced this year yet? Did you get an RC8B3? Hopefully the GLORCS gets more entries next year. I could not make Durham this weekend and won't be able to get to SPARC or Otterville races later this month, early next month, but want to race one more time in a single day event before the winter comes.

Not yet. Was suppose to at the GLORCS race. Boring a Serpent 2.2. Will probably get a RC8B3 over the winter and be ready for spring. The new buggy looks so nice. By the time I get one the bugs should be worked out.

If my engine was done I would let you try it. My Crono was fast and smooth before. When it is done it will be even better. A certain engine guy will probably do a little TLC to it. I am looking forward to it. May even start early in the states in the spring

Would love to see the buggy in person. Even better get to drive it. :)

I just had my Keep-off4 refreshed because I'm not super happy with it. It's SUPER smooth, and gets off the corner hard, but just doesn't have the top end the OS motors have. I had some light work done to it to see if that wakes it up. If not, I'm going to try a Keep-off 7 or an OS.

My honest opinion is the 4port motor quite weak for mid range and lack top end. I mean stock but for sure has the fuel economy. All depend on your liking. Even is a plus/keep-off, i believe the porting/crankshaft is same. For latest legend line i never try/see 1 running... Just my personal view on this engine.

Maybe the pros can give their opinions.

Opinions are always worth what you paid. Experience is what matters.

The pros have spoken. McBride and R Drake are running the legend 4 in buggy, and doing very well on big tracks. I saw Mcbride's car at vegas, and it was FAST. Ronda's car is pretty quick as well.

Is the Mito different from the Legend?

Yes...it seems like many of the team drivers outside of Adam Drake don't run it either.

cczjordan 09-13-2015 09:52 PM

See n try 1 to believe, remember the same porting + crankshaft wont make much different even it comes with ceramics bearing n carb.

Thats why lots of ppl will mod it for extra power, are the sponsored drivers using the same marketed engine?

I decided to grab a Top Elite 8 engine as I worked out a deal for one. Has had good reviews and comments by others throughout RCTECH forums. I still like to pick up a Rex Legend 4 or 7 next year too.

Interesting motor. Based of some super old 8 port that nova made. I worried about mileage with it.

I was looking to buy a motor to toy around with my friends. (I have an MP9) I'm not sure whether to get the mito 4 or 7 engine. they both are around the same cost $300 ($321 for prerun). I'm unsure what the benefits of 4 vs 7 port are and if I should opt the couple extra bucks for the pre run motor. Any advice would be great :)

4port for mileage, 7port for power. Depends on ur liking but i prefer 7port

kgombe 09-16-2015 07:15 PM

More importantly where can you get a mito for 300

190mph 09-16-2015 07:22 PM

$309 for 4 port and $319 for 7 port on the world's auction website for steel bearings versions
