My local track is a medium/small track and it is a fast track so run time is key to success. Also if I am not mistaken it is also advise to remove one of head shims once break in is done. Thanks for all the help. |
Novarossi 4 shoe clutch, would this give me more run time then a standard 3 shoe stock clutch system? I'd be running it on a mito4.

Why would you order a pipe that will add more bottom and lose top? The 2096 is the right pipe. Maybe Monty can add some info. I have a 9886 on mine but it is a older pipe with a square header.

Fellas quick question , always ran nova , stepped away for a lil bit with my samurai..... Now may be coming back. 1st love is BTTA. 10min stops no prob n ran for 8-9 gallons easy
I've been looking at engines and came across "MANTRA" and "ROLLING" both look like they share the engine block of the mito , just wondering if they have that same stupid one off bearing as MITO, also the mantra is 4port, Rolling is 7port, I kno most think ports mean torque n power but I kno that's not true, cause o.s is 3 port n they are faster n torque' than anything on track, So who has run both , If it shares that bearing I'll stick with the good ole reliable BTTA. THANKS |

Looking at Novarossi webpage, the Mantra and Rolling has regular bearings, though the Rolling has the offset carb like Mito and Vir-Tus.

I’ve got about a gallon on my mantra....so far, it’s been great!! Super fast, and it’s not to the free point yet....still a little metal pinch when cold....I suspect it will fly by gallon two....and, the reason I bought it over nitro was the bearing is normal

Ok cool. Let me kno what you think, when it's done
Running 41001/9901 on it and 4x1.0mm with aluminium shoes and that's way to aggressive in buggy. 4x0.9mm with 2xcarbon and 2xaluminium will probably be better in the end. Strong but smooth bottom end, not to sure on the top end yet though. |
Just finished the “majority” of the break in on my keep off 4 port. Running a 41001/9886, 2 aluminum 2 carbon with .9 carbon and 1.0 aluminum. I ran a quart through it gently and then started to run it on the track for another quart. Finally leaned on it a bit after running 1/2 a gallon through it. It’s still tight but starting to come alive and turning slightly quicker laps times than my b2102 on this track because it’s better suited for it. Run time looks like it’s going to be nice, motor is still snug and I was pulling in at 8:30 to refuel this afternoon. 6.0 Venturi leaves the top end a bit down from what I’m used to but delivery down low is so smooth and the track ain’t huge it’s not hurting me at all.
Very very happy with novarossi yet again. Every time I run one I wonder why I ever stray away to reds or os speed because the strong idle and power delivery just fits my driving. I always turn faster laps with a “slower” nova but always look around for something else too. Just part of the sickness I guess. |
Most all my Nova engines have always lasted, and I've gotten 10 or more gallons through them when I was using the keep off and plus 4 type motors.
But my Mito engines haven't lasted. The bearings go quickly after about 4 or 5 gallons, especially for the ceramic bearings. Anyone else getting this type of life out of there Mitos? |
