What is the difference of the Hybrid mantra for the mantra
I think what I'm going to say is the correct. Mantra Hybrid 1 ceramic and other steel bearing Mantra Standard 2 steel bearings |
Hey how's it going. I got a couple of novas bonito 1gallon, btts? .5 gallon Barely used and bttwc/a new. From someone switching brands I was wondering what is the go to plugs for these engines. I mainly run Picco and the plug most people use is the #5 and alpha is t3 or lutz L4. I never used nova. Only rb concept which was nova based. I think I was using O'Donnell 97t plug in there. Just trying to see some suggestions thanks in this video Adam says c6tgc is that best plug im assuming. I found c6cto replaces c6tgc? |
C5tgn all condition is the best

Would it be reasonable - with fuel mileage a non issue and max power desired; to use a 41031 manifold with a 9886SS on a P5XL Turbo engine? It’s going into an 8T 3.0 (Thanks Karl!). |

I have been drivning my Kyosho TKI4 with my Novarossi Rolling on track this weekend. Started with 9901 pipe and 41001 manifold and 7.0 Venturi. This combo produced way to much power for me at this track. I then changed to Novarossi EFRA 2096 pipe and 41021 manifold. This made the car more driveable but still plenty of power. If you like me like alot of bottom end in buggy this may be your choice. The last 3 years i have been drivning OS engines, Speed 2 and B2101. Novarossi Rolling i find to have more power and equal top speed as my OS engines. Runtimes is a little better for me with the Rolling then my OS engines. I Always pit at 7.30 and my runtimes are always pretty bad regardless of What engine i use. But i get about 8min 30 Seconds of runtime so far with the Rolling. It is about 20 seconds better then with my OS engines. https://youtu.be/IxxhMdn2Q4c Below you can see how it performs. |

Just bought a mantra today. I have a 9901/41021 in my pit bag, I will go ahead and try it out once run in. Anyone have feedback with other pipe manifold combos for this engine?

absolutely i like it allot in my truggy, It close on the top end to the keep off 7xls but with way more snap off the line where as the keep off seven liked to wait untill it hit mid range or ten feet out of the corner to start laying its all its power down.I think ive got the 41021 header and 9901ss on it right now, 1.0 springs with soar long life 7079 abc shoes.
i got one for my buddy as well hes running it in his d817 this year but i dont think he has it broke in yet hes going to be running the same 41021 2096 combo sumpan is The engine is the piston and sleeve of the virtus, mito crank and carb, normal rear bearing(no $100 replacements ha!), shifted carb of mito and virtus with the newer style backplate like the p5xlt16 |
Wow, $139 for the Paloma.. I don't even run my cars anymore, and still have numerous engines in perfect condition laying around, but that's a nice deal...
https://www.absolutehobbyz.com/Novar..._p_512781.html Unfortunately the 2 1/2 gallons or so of (Tornado %25) fuel I have is probably 3-4 years old by now. Tested it last summer in a few cars, and they all ran great.. Still... Been more into planes and quads the last few years, but I do miss the enthusiasm that went with getting a killer engine for a good deal ha ha... |
Speaking of Paloma, this weekend my engine would not start. It even ate the coils from the plugs. I was WTF is going on.
Yesterday I took the engine apart. The clay dirt gets everywhere, not even the oring can stop it! https://i.imgur.com/9wZpiGF.jpg?1 I then came to find that by not using after run oil after before putting the car away oxidation happens quickly! This is at 1 gallon of fuel. https://i.imgur.com/1KYrZjH.jpg?1 https://i.imgur.com/4qyynfE.jpg?1 Used the Novarossi after run oil and a rag to try and clean most of the rust off. https://i.imgur.com/wFksvrP.jpg?2 https://i.imgur.com/qjb4M0M.jpg?1 Will try and get it started during the week and make sure it is running ok. But comes to show what happens to these engines when not maintained properly. |
anyone know if the double bend os 2050 manifold is similar to the 41001

So I have a question. After putting the engine back together, while spinning the crankshaft, at TDC I would get a "wobble" effect I guess or more of a dead spot when rotating the crankshaft constantly. Is this a sign of a worn out incorrectly conrod?
Engine runs fine though, just concerned that what ever happened to the engine during the weekend that I managed to do some damage to it. Engine just finished going through one gallon as well. |
The conrod will have a little tiny bit of clearance even when new - and is absolutely necessary to get oil in there. With the piston at TDC, you will notice that tiny bit of play as you rock the crank either side of TDC with the piston basically stuck in the pinch. This is normal. Even a tiny audible clicking noise can be sometimes heard. This is fairly normal - within reason. |

Temps here are starting to be close to 90°, so changed to the C7TGC which seems to have helped with the engine temps being stable at 210-220° |
