Just bought a mantra today. I have a 9901/41021 in my pit bag, I will go ahead and try it out once run in. Anyone have feedback with other pipe manifold combos for this engine?

how many more tanks do you guys put on the factory break in motors before throwing the race tune on them

I was told that the 41031/2096 combo has the most power. I am running the 9901/031 combo and the motor has a lot of power. I think you will be happy with the combo you have.

I did 3 full tanks at idle. Let it cool down to normal temp, warm it up to 200°F with a heat gun, fire it up and let it sit x3

I then did 4th tank same needle settings (factory setting) at 1/4 throttle. With head wrap on trying to keep it above 200°F

5th and 6th tank 1/2 throttle

7th at 3/4

8th I started closing the HSN a little

By the 10th tank I was adjusting for a nice tune in the slight rich side.

This is just me from all the research I have made. Maybe someone else has a different method.

I was looking at the Nova Rolling, and I was wondering how this engine compares to the Virtus and the Bonito? They're all 7 porters, but are there any timing differences between them? Power and fuel consumption?

I appreciate the reply. I am not necessarily looking for the most power. I like smooth and easy to control. It just seems to often that the 9991/41021 is the go to setup on Nova buggy engines. If it is great, I already own that combo. But if there is something out there that performs more to what I want I will purchase it. I don't like super snappy bottom. I had always been told the 2096 is very smooth with good top. Of course I am looking for optimal mileage to. I can make compromises. Mainly want smooth power with good fuel mileage.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts. :)

it looks like the crank on the rolling has quite a bit of timing, the backplate is machined like the p5xlt-16, not flat as pictured on the novarossi site. the card that came with it(its a factory prerun) says it was up to 36600 rpm so it must have some legs

Trying to decide on an inexpensive engine for a tekno nb48.4. I'd like to stay around $150. I'm thinking it's between the Paloma Limited on novarossi direct, or the black S21P5XLT on amain. From what I've read in a few other threads, it sounds like the Paloma would be the better choice with the idea of possibly taming it down a little with clutch. Does that sound like the right choice? For background, I'm no pro. This would be for club racing, outdoor, on a pretty loose track, once or twice a month through the summer.

I went with the novarossi 5port Adam Drake edition m. It was $200 from absolutehobby.com. They also have the novarossi Karma for $149 right now. https://www.absolutehobbyz.com/Novar..._p_512232.html

Just when you think you have it narrowed down. At least it seems there isn't really a bad decision in the bunch. I looked at the Adam Drake edition but, I couldn't find much about it other than it was based on a Clio P5. Do you like it?

I went with the Paloma. Still running it rich and the engine just screams!

The S21P5XLT is a great engine as well. Check Novarossi Direct they have good prices.

When buying a manifold from novarossi direct, does it include the springs?
