I picked up RbMods 821b today for cheap. It looks to be in great condition, so should be fun to play with.

Due to it's age I can't seem to find too much info on it, so had a couple
questions:

- Glow plug recommendation with 30% (non-turbo head)
- Shimming with 30% (just wanted to check)

I was going to run it with 053 pipe I have laying around in a truggy.

Thanks...

What's the difference in these two Nova engines? Is one a Turbo? Both are 21-5k with purple heads (not blue or black as in rex or top). One has a flat piston and one has an indented piston.

I haven't seen a mod done by RB Mods yet that Rick did not say or it was on the box to use hot plugs and 30% fuel. We will see what Monte says.

Rbmods 821b is a badass engine , standard plug use odo100 or 77 should do the trick .

If you are gonna use it in truggy I would recommend a lil stiffer clutching a 7.5mm restrictor and a 9853ss/41021 type setup

The flat piston is the older version, while the dished/domed piston is the newer version (as far as I know). Nova typically reserves dished pistons for their higher-end engines, since they require more machining and steps to produce. In theory the dished piston engine is their best version.

Thank you! It is certainly faster between the two. It seems to increase compression by a good bit.
