Your awsome!!!!
P5 is a great engine, and will serve you well. If you have the mony, you might also consider the a Lucky 7 standard engine. It is the same engine as the P5, but it has a stronger piston that will last a bit longer than the standard P5.
They are on sale at absoulute Hobbyz now, so you can make a good deal i think.
I run Lucky 7 enignes here in Norway and try and sell them. They are good engines, but they slip under the radar. I just wanted to tell you that i sell them and could be biased. I do not want People to think i just advertice for someone without telling the Whole story. I will probebly go back to Novarossi Keepoff engines as soon as i am out of L7 engines as i have the possibilety to get back to Nova.
Best of Luck!!

DISCLAIMER: I am a mother who is looking for help on what to buy for my son's RC8. I have limited knowledge so that's why I was looking for your assistance.
My son has a Team Associated RC8 in which he has blown his motor. My son wants a Novarossi P5XLT engine. My question is what pipe, manifold and fuel filters should I purchase for it? The track he races on is pictured below. We live in the midwest so it gets very hot and humid as well. He needs excellent bottom end power but still needs to have great top end performance. I have read so many conflicting posts that I figured I would just ask everyone for help.
Thanks!
Lauren

Coolest mom ever, I was just reading your post this morning and thought.... Wow just awesome to see a mother so involved and interested and son getting support already at 10! Great things will come for both of you! Way cool ... Have fun out there.

FWIW 'The Drake' has quite a bit more throttle control compared to the mortal racer. In addition it would not surprise me he ran a small restrictor and the engine fairly lean to obtain such a number.

The engine will get better mileage once fully broken in. I also suspect being 'very new' you're running on the rich side. What size carb restrictor are you using? Also which tuned pipe?

I got the stock 6.5 mm restrictor
9901 but was thinking an 086 to take the bottom end
Thought 9901 was fuel mileage pipe tho?
I also got 053, jp3 , 2013, 2041 or Losi re10,re11 and OS 2060,2070
It's on a 8t 2.0 with 2 carbon 2aluminim green- gold respectively
Maybe a 2084 pipe I was told?

If you figure out how to get more than 8 minutes out of the Roma let me know. I'm running the 9886 pipe with 41001 header and get 8 minutes .It runs awesome and if I can pit at 7.30 I'm happy. I geared it up to a 14 tooth clutch to help tame it down some but this thing screams on the straight.

I averaged 9:10 to 9:25 last month at the Tilityard for the Roar Region 2 race series race. My Roma was at maybe 3 quarts of run time when did a few timed runs. This was with the 2084/41021 combo on 6.0 restrictor in 811T with OEM clutch (4 alum shoes-med springs) on 30%. Needles were not at a full race tune...a touch rich.
Personally I love the sound of the 9886 no matter what engine I've used it on. Unfortunately I get lower mileage so I rarely use it anymore. But wow...engines sure sing on top, nothing like the wailof the 9886. FWIW I have not tried the 9886 on the Roma, only the 9901 and 2084. Compared to the 9901, my 2084 gave better fuel mileage and feels smoother across the power band. I would like to try the 2096 on the Roma just have not gotten a chance to do so.
