To me there is a slight lag, but it is at the very very begining of the powerband. I only noticed it from a dead stop. A too lean LSN will cause it
to lose alot of low-end; I found that out this weekend. I'm still testing the pipe. to me the mid low-end on up is way better than 9901. I think I can figure out away to get rid of the lag. I know my mileage is hurting cause I ran out of fuel at about 9 to 10 minutes lucky for me it was right in front of the pit stand, but I was runnig it alittle to rich; the 9901 could do ten minutes with no problem. What clutch spings are you using? The 9853 pipe will not work with the 41021; the low-end will be great, but the mid through top-end just gurggles. |
Hi
What header and pipe would you guys recommend for the Nova based Nitrotec? Been reeding that the Losi pipes are not so good, and I really need an EFRA approved pipe. Thanks guys |
Maybe the 9901SS/41021 header or the new 2084.

Has this changed in the last year? I bought mine last summer and read all the threads I could find on the FMS. I remember seeing that you would have to add a shim to run 30%. I been running 25% all this time for nothing then.

Answer clutch and silver 1.0 springs. After a 6 min qual fuel was just below seam in tank. Can't complain abt mileage. My buddy got the exact engine from EB Mods and his has no bottom lag with 9853/41005. Gonna try that pipe and do more testing with RE10 this week. Murnan mods says alot of guys that run his modded fms like the 9901/41021 combo. To the track for pipe testing with Ed Bridges.
over to the 9886 pipe from the 9901 and a 7mm venturi to a 7.5mm I made a slight needle ajustment and ran from there. What I found out today is that you have to completely retune the engine. I mean start with the HSN I ran it up and down my street until it was set. Then the LSN leaned it until I got a constant steady idle (before the idle was blubbery and not constant) I let it idle for about 10 seconds then yank the throttle and it accelerated with out stumbling.(before when I did that the engine would almost die or did die) Well anyway the engine runs like a champ now, the lag is basically gone. I race this Saturday and I will let you know how it went. The 9853/41005 combo sounds interesting, but I would think the two 90 degree bends on the 41005 would hamper the top-end? |
Ok so in the near future I will be running nova +4's in my truggy and buggy...i was wondering has anyone tried it in the truggy with 9853/Long header? that's the setup I was thinking of trying because I've seen a few plus' in truggies and they didn't seem to have that bottom that I'd like. I would still like to have some top obviously for longer jumps on long straights but i want a fair amount of bottom 2

no it doesnt and yes , every time you change pipesets that have different characteristics a complete retune is in order , i recommend just richening needles at least 1/4 turn on high and low before you go out and run or bench tune .

I bought a used toro nero off the bay cheap. The crank, case, carb, head all seem to be in good shape but the P/S/rod is shot. I was wondering if any other p/s will fit in that motor. New toro nero p/s is like 250...I was wonder if a p5 or bf p/s will fit..thanks!

Were can I get a p/s then? At 250 it would be better to just buy a another toro
