Novarossi headers rules!

Hi all.

Is Novarossi headers just better than every other brands of headers? I've broken Hong Nor / Jammin, Picco and SH headers. For min. half of my time on the track have I used Novarossi headers, and NEVER broken or bent one. The other brands are just not that durable. Do you guys have the same experience?

rcmoe 08-07-2012 02:09 PM

Ive NEVER broken a header before of any brand. That seems almost impossible but i guess anything can happen.

just starting to break in a new p5. Wow this thing is super tight. I have had the comp heater on it for 30 minutes, starter box is the ofna truggy box with a 4 cell lipo and it is still getting stuck big time at TDC. I unscrewed the plug a little, put after run in it before I even tried to turn it over. I had it running for about 3 seconds so far lol. I think I have to lean the lsn and hsn a few hours to try to get it started.

dont be afraid to give it a bit of throttle tony

any questions email me [email protected]

thanks Monty, I did try giving some throttle. I also have a plus 4 team edition and it wasn't this tight lol. I had it running for 5 seconds and when it cuts out its stuck at tdc. And man it is a pain to get it back at bdc, my poor snap on screwdriver is catching hell trying to spin the flywheel over when it gets stuck lol. And the whole time I have the competition heater on the motor.

Did you try a heat gun? I'd go 220 or so and try to fire it up.

Yeh a heat gun will get you up over 200f very quickly, also gets some heat into the chassis as well. The other day I broke 2 fusion motors in and did find at 200f turned over but still a little tight, get it to about 220 started with ease.

Also don't run the comp heat for more that 10min at a time as you can burn out the element.

I'll bring my heat gun home from work tomorrow. Gota get this thing broke in for the weekend

Not true....During the colder months, I would regularly leave my comp heater on most of the entire race day to enusre my enigne and chassis stayed nice a toasty (only turned it off during my races).

I got a new one with the updated connector a few months back, but my original is still going strong with the guy I sold it to....it's almost 3 years old now.

You'll burn up the element if you leave it plugged in WITHOUT having it on the engine.

novarossi questions

-will the BTT piston and sleeve fit a plus 4C team edition and run with no problems?
- whats the best turbo plugs for the bonito you guys have used?... OD77T?? lots of folks loved it for the plus4C and I have a tonne of them i want to put to use?

Anyone got a plus4 crankcase for sale cheap??

If you can't get rid of a 2-stage idle with a cold plug, it normally will help with a hot plug like OD77T. On the other hand an OD77T are too hot, if your engine can idle for days without loading up. In that case you can use a colder plug, and get better runtime due to leaner needdle settings.

EDIT: How much nitro are you running?

I've a crankcase (2009 Plus4) I don't use. You can have for free if you pay for the shipping. Might be easier for you if an american has one you can have

But, my HSN was above flush when it was doing this stuff. I hear people are below flush on the HSN. I know it varies, I just want to get this tune down. I was thinking that I needed to richen the HSN too. I am going to restart from stock settings and try again. Just wondered, thank you.

Yeah I had same exact issue a couple weekends ago and I was a little above flush on hsn when this occured. My friend has same motor BTT and bought about same time he is a little below flush on hsn. I leaned the hsn until I heard a lean bog or pinging then richened 2hrs. Now it really runs better on top and no flames! Don't be afraid to lean out the top after a couple gallons and get it around 250f-270f.

yep, transfer your button over as well. personally I would go the other way though. take the p/s from the 4C to the lower CG of the BTT

So true

I have bent other brands of headers and the Nova ones are by far the best fit and the most durable. :)
