NOVAROSSI Engine thread....

Very strange breakage- that just doesn't seam to happen with these motors. Freak accident IMO.
But it looks like you didn't tkae care of that engine at all. It should not be rusting that much if at all after two gallons. What after run oil did you use?
Seams like A: you didn't use a good one B: You didn't use enough and C: You didn't coat the internals when you did it by turning the motor over enough.

Novarossi engines, though surely among the best, are not as flawless as the fanboys make out. And yes, NR has a pretty blatant fanboy contingent here at rctech.
Not the first time I've heard of and seen people having issues with NR's. The Toro Nero in particular.. Which is not to say they're still not among the best engines you can get. But they too can have inconsitencies and quality issues.

The engine was about two gallons, and the After-Run use is Mugen Seiki. First empty the tank, then I start the engine at idle, and finally put After-Run by the spark plug and carburetor, and then I do turn the motor with starter box.
Can do you damage to the motor be 6 months without using it?

Some engines have defects, don't expect any O.S. engine to be better in terms of reliability as the Nova, as O.S. engines have problems as well.

Thats a very unusual breakage, especially at low rpm like you say. If it breaks like that at low RPM, I dont see how it can last 2 whole gallons before breaking, being that it must have been run at high rpm some times over that two gallon period.

I think I'll buy a Bonito XLB, so I can use the same set of pipe and manifold.

No. I don't believe any used engine should sell for more then $100 unless it's from a highly credited engine guy. And your well under the $100 so I think The fact that you state unknown runtime is probally hurting your sale but I like your honesty.
What I suggest is if you are not hurting for cash, donate the motors. That's what I do is when I get a new mill is donate my backup motor. I mainly like to give them to guys at the track who are trying to set up a kid with a nitro class or just the dads in general who can't afford the good mills for there kids who run the weak RTR engines.
Just a thought.

I went from an XZ-B Speed to a Toro Nero. Personally, I liked the NR better (easier to tune, better powerband), and would still be enjoying it, but I had a self inflicted issue recently. My goof up caused a rear bearing failure at a race this past weekend. The end result was a trashed crank, piston, and sleeve from the ceramic particles flowing around in the engine.

Good thing I've got that Volksmotor coming to try out....

since going to a 7mm insert I have noticed all my novas perform way better.
