Even with the venturi out .6 looks almost closed and with the venturi in it will look closed.

As far as what RBmods does, i'm not sure. I only have had 2 tuned motors, Paris .12 touring car motor back in 2001 and now a Houston plus 4 (which I have resisted the strong urge to take a apart and look at teh internals)

If its a turbo and its above 75* F then I would recommend the c6tgc, if under then use the c5tgc
Thanks. There were no shims so I can only guess they were removed for some reason b4 I got the motor. Thanks for the plug advise, I'm using the c5 at the moment but have a c6 in the box.

What is the effect on the motor/running by using shims? Obviously raising the plug away from the piston but what is the effect?

Thanks again,
DEnnis

retards the ignition timing. and reduces compression you will need the shims to be there, or it will run erratic

Default Shims

Check the head button, they probably are stuck to it.

What pipe will be best for fuel mileage?

What is the best break in method for these engines? I have never had to break in a new NR engine before.

I appreciate the help!!!
Have a read here for breakin mothods, this is what I went by with my btt.
http://www.rctech.net/forum/offroad-...eak-bible.html

Pipes, try the 9901 or 2096 with 41021 manifold, good power and I'm getting 10min+ milage for both pipes.

cheers
Here in Denmark, the top Novarossi drivers uses #6 when the ambient temp is between 15 - 25º C. If your well tuned engine can hold a steady idle for 30 sec. and the engine then can accelerate without burbs and farts you can run a cooler plug. Retune (a little leaner) and get even better runtimes.

Can someone please tell me what the stock factory settings are for a Fms motor? My tune is out to lunch and I want to reset it and get it straight. Thanks in advance.

I have an FMS as a backup engine and for the heck of it i ran it in my MBX6T last weekend, ran great, plenty of power for the truggy. I ran it with a 7mm venturi, Werks light clutch with 4 alum shoes, 2 .9s and 2 1.0s for springs, stock gearing, and a 2084 pipe with 41021 header.

If i had to put it in my Buggy, i'd probably run a 9901/21, all else the same

I got an N21BF limited in a car I just bought. The plug is standard and has no name or number on it. My guess would be a nova std plug would work but don't think I can get them local. What else would fit? Will the long reach plug used in the traxxas 3.3 work?

Yes the traxxas plugs will work great actually , not a bad plug

John, give me a call tomorrow at work...we can talk about NR's, and break in.

If you want, you can also try out the pipes I've got for my NR before you buy something.

Default Plastic or Alum...

Hello,

I have the Plus4 with Ceramic Bearing and had a few questions...

1. Should I run the plastic 6.5 insert in carb or an aftermarket alum 6.5 insert. My thought is the plastic one should create less condensation over the alum but wanted to get your thoughts...

2. Is 6.5 as small as you would really want to run on this engine? When I used to run my mugen OS based ninja I would run a 6.0

Thanks for the hep!
