Ok

Yeah. I honestly don't like the 9886 pipe., but I can tell you from experience the bent nova headers really make my engines sing on a 9853ss pipe. Plenty of torque and excellent top end, more than the short curved headers on that pipe. I like the 9853 because you never fall short on torque, but you can use the different length headers to tune for the top. For example, the 9853ss pipe with either the 41001 header, it's the medium but don't let that fool you on the top end performance, and I have not tried the 41019 short bent header, but I would imagine it would make lots of speed on the 9853 without sacrificing torque....or even the 9901 or whatever.

RC CARS!

I have the Novarossi plus 21-4c and the 9901 & 9853 pipe with the 41021 and 41020 manifold. What's the best combo for this engine? I'm running it on my Losi 8ight 2.0 buggy.

9901 SS/41021 would be my choice.

Definitely use the 41021 manifold.

Use the 9853 for much more low end with good mileage.

Use the 9901 to smooth things out a little with great mileage.

Or use the 2096 SS pipe and don't look back:nod:

Thanks for the fast respond guys. I also forgot to add that my local track has a lot of turns and 1 short straight away. Most of the turns has a triple jump and doubles. Hope this hope on which pipe is best. Here is a video of the track.

Nuff Said, same car as you, says he uses 9901 on all motors all tracks pretty much. Im sure if it is enough power for him, its prob def enough for us.

Hello, I have a Nova 4BTT in my MBX6 buggy, and would like to know that venturi is better, 6 or 6.5mm?

Thanks. Best Regards.

I use the BTTS which is the same engine other than yours has a steel front bearing and mine is ceramic. I use the 6mm venturi with 41021 manifold and 9901 pipe. I use odonnell spend blend fuel and with this set up i can get over 11 minutes of run time. If I use the 2084 pipe i can go 13 minutes..

Ok, I watched this video of Adam Drake talking about two engines. This is what was said in the video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoWhB...layer_embedded

Buggy:
BTT engine
6mm restrictor
steel flywheel
4 shoe clutch (2 composite & 2 aluminum)
springs (composite shoe springs BLACK .036 25°)(aluminum shoe springs GREEN .036 30°)
9901 pipe
41021 header

Truggy
BONITO engine
7mm restrictor
aluminum flywheel
4 shoe clutch (2 composite & 2 aluminum)
springs (composite shoe springs GREEN .036 30°)(aluminum shoe springs GOLD .040 25°)
9901 pipe
41021 header

My questions are:
Lighter flywheel has what effect on motor?
Heavier flywheel has what effect on motor?
Lighter spring on composite shoe engages first, what advantage does this have?
Heavier spring on aluminum shoe engages later, what advantage does this have?

I run a RC8.2 with the same setup except a 6.5mm restrictor and a RC8 clutch with all aluminum shoes and 1.0x3 springs and my RC8T same except a 7.5mm restrictor 9853 pipe and a 41020 header and a RC8 clutch with all aluminum shoes and 1.0x3 springs...........

heavier flywheel = less wheel spin, smoother power band
lighter flywheel = quicker spool up
lighter springs = more drag less torque. clutch engages sooner...

merdith6 11-17-2011 12:31 PM

Haha

HT P5 or Plus-4
Nova c6tgc plug
7mm venturi...
alluminum flywheel
Mugen hard clutch shoes, 1.0 springs..
novarossi 41001 manifold
novarossi 9853ss pipe.
25% Byrons 11% oil.
.70 head shimming...

I understand the thicker spring is more of a stall for engagement, but more specifically, composite shoe lighter spring engages first then the aluminum shoe is what he was talking about. Is it just a linear feeling pretty much?

I honestly would change the 9853 to 9901. The 9853 bottom end is just to insane where as the 9901 maintains good bottom end, but more controllable power.
