did you richen your needles much going from a 6.5 to a 6mm venturi?
cheers

I honestly would change the 9853 to 9901. The 9853 bottom end is just to insane where as the 9901 maintains good bottom end, but more controllable power.

i tried the 9901 on the plus-4 and it was a bit too mild...Although it was in a test Durango, not the perfect test..

I might tryit on the p5...in the Mugen, but I like the way the p5 drives with the 9853, and the plus-4 really leans more toward p5 performance with the 9853....but I do have a 9901. I may just try it a little more....Maybe with the bent header it will pep it up.

I tested them back to back at mikes, last weekend and was getting a lot more wheelspin with the 9853, which was causing me to lose time. Thru the 9901 on, and there was more usable traction so times got better. Track was dusty though.

Ok, I watched this video of Adam Drake talking about two engines. This is what was said in the video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoWhB...layer_embedded

Buggy:
BTT engine
6mm restrictor
steel flywheel
4 shoe clutch (2 composite & 2 aluminum)
springs (composite shoe springs BLACK .036 25°)(aluminum shoe springs GREEN .036 30°)
9901 pipe
41021 header

Truggy
BONITO engine
7mm restrictor
aluminum flywheel
4 shoe clutch (2 composite & 2 aluminum)
springs (composite shoe springs GREEN .036 30°)(aluminum shoe springs GOLD .040 25°)
9901 pipe
41021 header

My questions are:
Lighter flywheel has what effect on motor?
Heavier flywheel has what effect on motor?
Lighter spring on composite shoe engages first, what advantage does this have?
Heavier spring on aluminum shoe engages later, what advantage does this have?

I run a RC8.2 with the same setup except a 6.5mm restrictor and a RC8 clutch with all aluminum shoes and 1.0x3 springs and my RC8T same except a 7.5mm restrictor 9853 pipe and a 41020 header and a RC8 clutch with all aluminum shoes and 1.0x3 springs...........

A small correction! Drake says uses 4BTT "S"

Best Regards.

That's right. The front bearing and...a higher price!

Different stuff for different styles and tracks. I like racing outdoor in dirt, not indoor clay....In dirt, you need the power....

you need to lean the needles as you have less air to the carb when you go from 6.5mm to 6mm

+1

I just bought an OS 5,5 mm venturi. Can wait to test it. Perfect fit in a Novarossi carburator
