The 3000 series pipes are made to be quiet for european efra rules. They sacrifice power for quieter operation.

9901ss is also an approved efra legal tuned silencer rather than a tuned performance pipe ;)

nova fms

just wondering is the nova 21 fms the same as the toronero 21 as far as performance and parts and what can you compare a modded p5xl to as far as power and run time for a truggy any help thanks

littlelane 01-28-2010 08:48 PM

im not an expert but my fms really only liked big flowing tracks it was really hard to drive in smaller to medium tracks the p5 is an awesome engine very reliable easy to tune and last foreever if taken care of i dont know much about the toro and yoou might check out the plus 4 also if you need to talk to someone with more knowledge call mark at power house

5 port is a workhorse and is very tuneable ie; pipes , plugs , clutch and responds well to changes , a very well rounded engine .

the fms is a great engine and has bookoo power , more finicky as far as pipe, plug, clutch combo , afterall it is a 7 port ;) too much power for buggy and plenty for medium track truggy engine

the toro is good but needs a certain type of pipe, plug, clutch combo to run as it was designed to do . smooth enough to run in buggy and makes a great larger track truggy engine.

Darn it, I ordered a 3005 to run with my P5XS yesterday! I wanted to give it a try. Why do they hurt performance?

Because those pipes are aimed at silencing the motor.

I would venture to say that the 3004,3005,3006 tuned silencers are even more silenced than the pushed to efra limits 9901 tuned silencer .

Personally , I like tuned performance exhausts ;)

I will say that the 9901 is a great mileage pipe andalso very smooth , something many people look for which is why it is selling like hotcakes!! :)

How come you're running 20% ? If you don't mind

Are you refering to the ofna 053 or dynamite 053mr pipesets ?

The ofna is a lot like the 9853/41001 setup ( can't find 41001 headers so I sub 41005) and works awesome!!! The 053mr pipeset comes with a smooth flow header and creates a lot of bottom to mid but falls flat on top , exc. Small to medium track or if there are a lot of short chutes or short run ups to jumps.

I would recommend 30%

motor

i get a good deal on 20% 19.00 gallon and all my buddys run the same fuel easier on pit stops am thinking about 30% instead used it in the past but never really noticed much of a difference yes the dynamite pipe or ofna how can you tell which header i have the square 1 i dont know short med long all i have else is the round headers thanks again:confused:

I'm contemplating uprading my P5XS from a standard head to turbo. Is there a noticable increase in power from Standard Plug to Turbo on this already powerful engine? Seems to do the trick for me already.
