Shimming
I am going to shim my plus 21-5k to .80 to run 30% and when I pulled the button there was a 40 shim which it looks like it is made from ally and a 30 made from brass colored on 1 side and ally looking facing the sleeve; my question is should I put the 10 shim between them or does it matter. Lastly I swapped out the head screws with button head type and wanted to know should I really tighten them down or some thing less extreme because when I removed the stock screws they were very tight.
Any help would be appreciated. |
need some advice with my p5xlt,not the best tuner but not a beginner,have broke in a engine or 2,got about 2 quarts on board(heat cycle)about a half quart ago she dropped her nut a thought,so i started tuning a little.got her moving pretty good(for a p5) good temps 220-230, good smoke.put her up for about 2 weeks.today started her up and the piece of shit would not even idle,spitting fuel out pipe,got her finally to idle and could not even give half throttle without stalling.i noticed also when i went to adjust the low end as soon as i touched the screw it changed speed idle went up or down with out even a turn,before i could do any more my starter box battery went dead,i just about took a hammer to the pretty purple head.whats the deal with this thing anybody know.

There is no possible way the thing "dropped its nuts" within two quarts of fuel Just tune it and it will make you smile , you probably just leaned the hsn and didn't lean the lsn , your lsn is rich |
i thought so ,to soon but temps dropped alot,so i went with it,otherwise why would it run great one day and like shit the next if it was not ready or needed more time,just pissed this engine has been a bitch since day one.

Hey guys
Well I have decided to get the Nova Plus 4... But I have a few decisions to make which I need you guys for assistance :D One of the big questions is to whether to get the Plus 4 or the plus 4c, as I am after reliability (less chance of flame outs) and in general better quality... If you guys have any answers I am very keen to here them =) Also a few more questions after I get my motor which or the following will I be better off with for better run time as my driving style eats quite a lot of fuel... Which header: Which pipe: How much % nitro (also how many shims): Thank you in advance |
what JP pipe would work well with the N21BF Limited? I have the range of these pipe (1-5) and I'm having problems finding a decent priced 086 pipe.

I have had people tell me they haven't had to touch the needles more than an hour or two bfor a number of gallons . I guess you can call it what you want but the facts are you get a properly broke in engine that you can run on the track as soon as you get it . "R2R" Monty There are also a few other guys that offer a bench break in if that's what you are looking for , I do mine in a car and tune the low speed and set the high speed just a little rich for ya . |
